No world tour didn't have any of them in venue and was pretty much all pre-recorded. I don't even think the MC parts were live.
I think it depends
Pretty sure Bae flew back the last time they hit Sydney.
She half complained because she literally just decided to move to Japan and flew from Australia to Japan like a week ealier lolw
At least for Bae that is.
The performance are all pre-recorded ofc.

I wish Moom would log into Rust the morning of her grad and just wreck a bunch of people's stuff.

I still have no idea what Holoearth is supposed to be now. Is it a story driven open world game like Genshin Impact or just some AR sandbox game? And then we have a legally distinct version of Ghost from Destiny too as our guide/companion. This trailer just confuses me...

Let me just say, it's going to be the main reason why Cover will go bankrupt if it doesn't sell well. They invested billions of yen in that project, it only has two options: it's a massive hit or a spectacular failure, no in-betweens.

It would be very depressing if that were the case. I just hope Yagoo has some backup plan if this NFT money pit 'game' blows up on itself. I would be very disappointed if some shitty side project is what will tarnish their reputation.

I know nobody will play it despite being free but you can just go to their official site and download it: https://holoearth.com/en/download/

Here is Ikko Fukkuda himself explaining the 3 cores aspect of the game on the latest update video and it has English subs:
1-Virtual Lives so you dont have to travel to see them
2-Avatar System for a social game aspect
3-Sandbox game (PVE for now)
The following Updates (1.0.0) include: Users being able to sell their own Virtual Items with their own designs and the Hololive Production official Shop opening in game (this should have been day one but ok i guess)
And then about updates they talked about for the Future:
-Holomem finally being able to use their own 3Ds for the game (another thing that should have been day 1)
1745416089119.png

-Tracking Mode like the one that Gook game has
-Kemomimi options for the custom avatars so you can create your own Pekora clone
1745416284869.png

- A mobile version with less features than the PC version
-New Concerts and Meet and Greets but this time instead of being a 3D Triangle you will be able to use your in game avatar
-More stuff for the Sandbox mode
-Collabs (The most WTF one)
Not a sign of this game having a story for now

That's good but I'm still skeptical about the huge demand for this kind of game in the wider Holo Fandom. Maybe I'm wrong and the Japs will buy every single expensive cosmetic in the game to impress their oshis. Stranger things have happened.

I think the game its too ambitious by trying to be 3 different things at once instead of one so its all over the place
The main priority should have been concerts and meet and greets while everything else should have been secondary

I can respect this man's ability to somehow include his giantess fetish in every single animation he makes. That's true autistic dedication right there.

Maybe I misremembered but isn’t all the Holo Earth stuff listed/budgeted separately on their financials and shouldn’t have any direct impact on things either way?

Doesn't matter if Hololive has so much money it barely dents their financials and they still turns a profit
Doesn't matter if they finished building a 20 million dollar studio at the same time on top of that and still turns millions of dollars in profit.
But you see, once holoearth fails, the totally real investors will band together and vote out Yagoo and replace him with a more succesful entrepreneur name Riku Tazumi

Twitter journalists if it fails: Holoearth failed due to idol culture.

Twitter journalists if it succeeds: Holoearth succeeds by exploiting their fans. And due to idol culture.

I can't imagine talents wanting to give up all the sc from having concerts and celebrations on Holoearth instead. Especially since 3d concerts are such money sinks. I don't doubt Cover will try to incentivise talents to do stuff on Holoearth but unless it's like meet and greets or similar I don't know how they would make money on just cosmetics.

Id assume that HoloEarth concerts wouldnt take or be given as much effort as their current concerts, id imagine you could do shit like maybe you hold an encore there where whatever is whaled for the talents is given 100% to the company, you could even go further and sell virtual merch that wouldnt have any sort of supply issues, but id imagine it would be beyond niche to do so

It's more like they have no idea what to do with it in the first place so they are now trying to throw everything at the wall to see what sticks
They sunk too much money at it to shut it down, sunk cost fallacy. What is it, 15 million dollars at this point.
Some fucker managed to scam Yagoo's money and he is too reluctant/gullible to fire him/scrap the entire thing. Now he promoted the SquareEnix guy to salvage it and make it a real game or something. Good fucking luck because the guy sucked ass when he was in SquareEnix and some of their worst games ever made was under his rule.

Note that the last concerts in HoloEarth was held back in September 2023, almost 2 fucking years ago. The technology was kinda there (beside the FPS drops and burning up computers). I bet the reason they stopped running concert on it is because it wasn't profitable enough to justify the costs.

A {{{{{good}}}}} idea is having it as the premier platform for Holofes/concerts so they don't have to pay Spawn for hosting.
However it will never work as long as you can't stream it on phone/switch, which is how most youngster these day/Japanese watches anything. A PC only "game" will only shrink your fanbase and lose you money both in short-term and long-term. And without exclusivity people will just rather pay spawn than to watch it on their PC

On top of it, there was a company-wide "change in direction" as Hololive shifted away from online concerts. Merch/IP is now the main priority for making money and offline concerts replaced company online concerts (a.k.a world tours, more sololives, more VR Chat meet n greet, suisei japan tour VS the death of SummerFes). Forcing people to do concerts on the "Game" will be a complete 180 and reverted every major decisions they have made in the last 2 years. "Just do more online concerts" might be entertained in 2023, it isn't now in 2025.

HoloEarth will continue draining money from the company until someone pull the plug. I don't see anyway it can actually make money unless they turn it into gacha like genshin. And people won't just play any gacha, you need a good story/gameplay to go with it.

Tl;dr: Shit's fucked. Don't expect nothing of it. It won't tank the company since Holo is so big and stable, but it won't return any profit either.

It is, all of this "it's gonna bankrupt cover" has never made any sense, they fund it with the extra money they are doing nothing with. Cover has always tried doing shit which doesn't obviously work and many times it fails, sometimes it succeeds, if you want a corpo that does one thing over and over and spoon feeds you the product you want instead of doing anything different then go to EA or maybe Marvel.

It's not really a good thing I won't lie, but I certainly prefer it to Niji, who doesn't seem to do anything with their extra cash even though they make more than Cover, or Brave who just wastes their VC money on monopolizing the industry and buying pointless shit.
