I think probably the biggest star at the time there might have been Lithgow. It was before Back to the future, Robocop and the Fly. I know they were all in stuff but I want to say that Lithgow was the closest to an actual name.

The film is quite a slow burn. It's got the pacing of Zardoz if you are familiar with that. It's better than Zardoz though and it's weirdness is mostly intentional in comparison. It would be difficult for me to recommend still because of its pacing and 80s weirdness.

It probably helped in getting Weller the role of Robocop at least.
