That's what I thought originally, but he'd be too old and one of the brothers probably would have recognized him in the motel. It was obvious he had history in the town, probably just in debt to the same people as Bear, maybe fucked the town bike. I think Bear is the fat annoying kid's dad.

Lazy plot writing expectation tells me during his travelling the country days he was in the area and is the father of Autism Holt, in book one he hid his face once the Holt's showed up implying he had a reason to.
