I can't decide if it's better to have Elden Ring be an intro game or another Souls. On the one hand so much of the power creep in the franchise is due to the increasing average skill of the playerbase, on the other, most of Elden Ring's bullshit comes from a desire to fuck with the accumulated experience of previous Souls players. Probably still DS1 is the best intro. Maybe Panko could get in for some coop action to help her out, that'd be great.

I think the open-world exploration helps people like Pippa get into the game tho!

Kale is an npc in the game. He's an early game merchant, the first a new player will meet.

Elden Ring was my first souls game. I've since played more, but I thought it was a fine introduction.
Edit: Only thing I might add is, Elden Ring has by far been the hardest for me. Playing Demon Souls after Elden Ring felt like I was playing a children's game.
