Cosplay scene is fucked. I got a little bit into that scene a while back. Had a lot of fun with it. That kind of thing ruined it for me though. Fucking catty bitches everywhere. I couldn't just be autistic about costumes, had to get get bombarded by the fake compliments and bitching behind other's backs.

That could be, but only a couple seem to have a connection. Not enough to show that talents had anything to do with it. Somebody had to contact them, but I can't see a vtuber sitting down and doing all that themselves.

I imagine Sakana recruited from several places to get nearly thirty cosplayers.
- Some of the cosplayers were at Offkai Gen 3 and possibly at other conventions - Ember's cosplayer, Gumbun, even said she chatted with Sakana at Offkai Gen 3. He probably got a few of his recruits from there, especially if they visited his booth last year.
- Probably asked the talents if they had friends or acquaintances they thought would be a good fit. Some of the talents come from the world of cosplay, so it makes sense that he would make use of their contacts and help get their friends some work.
- He probably scouted a few cosplayers as well directly off Twitter, he would see the talents liking and retweeting cosplayers and could reach out to them if they were interested and attending Offkai '25.

One more thought - this project didn't leak until it was announced by Phase Connect (and neither did the recruited cosplayers leak the May Invaders, who they were prepping their cosplay for). Say what you want about the political sperging, but the cosplayers can at least uphold an NDA. I think Fishman did a decent job choosing the cosplayers for this one.
