The nepohire/audition discussion has been looped to death at this point and is frankly retarded in general. Even if some picks are already secured it is good practice to open auditions anyway, even if there aren't guaranteed slots; if an unexpectedly great applicant comes along then the existing plans can easily be tweaked to include them, which is a much better option than letting gold get away because you'd never heard about them.

The VShojo nepohiring in itself isn't a problem, it's that Zentraya desperately tries to pander to the seething 2view nobodies every time one of their obvious nepohires gets in. He turns a non-issue into an actual issue because he cares so much about Twitterfags liking him and his friends that he'll respond to disingenuous non-criticism from attention-seekers to defend their honour.

It does also feel a reach to say the three new Invaders are exclusively nepohires since we already know Sleepy was rejected a while ago; she would've had to go back to the drawing board and make a better case for herself. Having connections to existing talents is going to help (and this is a good thing, networking is an important part of being in entertainment, even in a completely objective evaluation having good connections is a perk that would make someone more appealing to a company than someone who hasn't), but the standards are obviously much higher than "be Pippa's friend" or the company would be full of annoying orbiters by now, which clearly isn't the case.

I agree although I think the "Zentreya made it worse" point is overstated. Zen made those comments in response to long ongoing spergouts over "nepohires" - it was dumb to pay them attention like that absolutely, but I can understand the frustration over people who just will not shut up about words and accusations they barely understand the meaning of. The other half of the problem with this loop is how much of the vtuber fandom is completely unable to recognise when a joke or talking point has passed its use-by date.
