I think it's just due to the sample of vtubers I've watched - I've watched Phase, tried a bunch of indies and a few other vtubers from various small corpos, and none of those have mentioned or really talked about relationships. Feels like a really big part of life that constantly gets excluded when streamers will chat about everything else, no matter how gross, disgusting, or insane it is.

I don't know I've personally have never really been invested in the streamers personal life like it's not something I'd ignore if they brought it up I just don't think it's important enough for me to chase down to enjoy their content
I like listening to stories, I think people and what they do can be really interesting. I like hearing stories about the life of girlfailures who struggle to leave the house, but I wouldn't mind hearing some stories from women who have their shit together and have long-term plans for the future that isn't just streaming content online. A bit of variety, is what I'm saying.

I think for most normal people it would get annoying if the funny anime lady they're watching constantly brings up her SO and what they were doing. I mean I think most people here would tell one of their friends to shut the fuck up if they were constantly bringing up their girlfriends when you're hanging out with the boys. Talking about your relationship is something I'd consider more private that only people close to you should know.
It's not just overexposure, talents lose viewers and money if they even hint at having a male partner. Lumi's (fake) boyfriend yab yesterday wouldn't be a thing if people weren't worried about even a hint of a relationship with a male on-stream.

This is kind of a weird cycle, as I already follow both Clio and Mari on Twitch and I've watched Sleepy a bit. I tend to leave Clio's streams on when I'm doing work, so it's really odd.

I think the idea of "I'll lose my career if they find out I'm dating a MALE" formed from the time when the first e-girl was born, those bitches were predatory and lead on their fans. Sure there are plenty of delusional fucks who think they have a chance but they don't make their 90% unless they groom their audience like shiina or pokimane for example. Girls like lumi attract their audience by their charisma and funnies, there will be delusional fucks in the mix too but their numbers wouldn't make much of the audience. They may take a hit on revenue because whales are the most crazy about spending, the hit wouldn't that big for someone who doesn't rely on gfe. At least that's my theory.
There's a difference between once in a while, like at most a small sentence or two per stream, and constant references to a significant other. Once in a while would kill the schizos that go crazy over any possible boyfriend yab, while still not being too annoying, at least imho.

Considering thing on the title has two T's and history lover doesn't have two T's, I think it can be assumed there are extra letters in all of them.
I feel the same way. They're great picks, but at the same time it doesn't really feel like Phase actually gained anything from it like with other waves or invaders.
