Ok the themed AO skin is actually based af, I love vtuber outfits that also change bits of their default accessories to be thematic.

Huh Bijou is going to be playing "It takes two" with Haachama tonight(?) not a pairing I expected if I'm being honest

Haachama said she's going to be doing a lot of collabs this week.

She got back from a long vacation I think. She just wants to spend time with members again, no big deal.

I love Bae as much as anyone who still posts on this website, but is there any particular reason they chose her, as opposed to, oh, I don't know, any of the Hololive members who have actually played fighting games on stream?

While she worked with them, it's also pretty likely someone is a fan on staff and that has a lot to do with it.

Oh, that's going to be hilarious.

Bae playing CVS2 would be really cool.

Towa officially came back from her month-long break earlier today :towapeeved:

After she grinded hard for weeks to compete in two Street Fighter 6 tournaments (both of which she did amazing in), she took all of April off to relax and catch up on work stuff. Though during her break, she did a sponsored stream, competed in an Overwatch tournament and of course showed up to say goodbye to Mumei. She reassured everyone that she has Mumei's contact info so they'll be keeping in touch.

Today was a chill chatting stream though. She mainly talked about how she was in Ririka's live earlier today. They practiced and recorded for it during the SF6 tournament time so Towa was very busy. Didn't help that the dance was difficult and that she got incredibly sick along the way, but she did her best and it came out great. She wants to do something together with Ririka again sometime as she thinks they work well together. She also talked about her POV of the Universal Studios trip she went to with Subaru, Fubuki, Mio and Suisei. Lots of adorable screaming and good times were had.

Towa also made a cool announcement. She'll be starting a new project this month:

The Holo Member Original Song Introduction Project

  • On the 20th of every month at 7PM, she'll be doing a stream where she introduces and talks about original songs made by Holo talents.
  • You'll be able to submit recommendations through a Google form. You can choose a song, write down what you love about it and why.
    • The Google form for May is linked here. She apologized for making it on such quick notice.
    • Only one entry per month. You can submit the same entry for next month if it doesn't get picked.
  • Obviously it doesn't have to be her songs only. You can pick any song from JP, ID, EN and DEV_IS.
  • If the talent isn't busy, she also wants to get a comment from them talking about their song if it gets chosen.
    • This might end up being a segment where the member shills their own song for a bit but we'll see.
  • The songs don't need to have an MV to get chosen.
  • It doesn't have to be a popular song either. Songs that you wish people listened to more are perfectly acceptable. Basically as long as you love it and want her to talk about it, it's fine.
  • This is limited to songs made by a current Hololive talent herself. This means no songs directly from Cover (Stuff like Shiny Smily Story, Kirameki Rider etc) or songs made for sponsors/groups (Stuff like that one NISSIN ramen song or the UMISEA original song).
    • No songs from graduated talents nor from Holostars as well. She wanted to start out with a more limited pool since this is her first time doing something like this. Also there are so many Hololive songs to choose from already that it could get a. bit overwhelming.
  • Whether this is something that lasts a while or ends quickly will depend on how well it's received, so she's hoping everyone reacts well to it.
  • She came up with this cause she wants to show off what's great about the Holo girls' original songs. She also wants to listen to more songs herself and have them memorized so this is a win-win situation.
  • Lately, it kinda feels like the Holo projects are super serious and overly prepared. The vibes feel kinda different from the older days, both on the fan side and the management side. Maybe it's her overthinking things, but it feels more difficult to just casually hit up a member and ask for a collab.
    • Hololive has gotten so big that it feels like any mistake made will lead to members getting pricked and prodded at (assuming by anti and random critics etc), so it feels like there's more of a pressure to be perfect with any projects. With this, she wants to go back to the vibes of the older days and do a more casual stream idea.

Calli had a similar idea a while ago IIRC but it didn't last too long. I'm hoping Towa takes it a bit further since this is a neat way to spread original songs around. But I'm just glad she's back in general. I missed my favorite purple menhera.

"Towa's back!"
She's been streaming the last week on Twitch in various hero shooters. lol

Look forward to the projects.

Haachama's English still sounds terrible, but she's actually gotten significantly better & can understand a lot. I wonder if she tried not doing the Haato voice if her English would sound a lot clearer.

Not lately. It's been like this since before A-chan left last year. Every project has to be this bombastic over-produced super polished spectacle and I can only guess from my end as to the hours of dance and singing rehearsals involved. Not that it matters because holo is an idol-foremost venture but when you add the nature of "the japanese idol fan" you start to realize what thin rope has to be walked by just to avoid undue criticism.
I hope that by casual she doesn't just mean more APEX/overslop, but it's what makes her happy and I will tune in.

I think you misread what she means by projects and making it hard to do casual collab, she meant things like holorust.

There used to be a minecraft sport fes and mario tourney anually and maybe one or two more a year. That's about it for the big, cross branch/company events.

In the last twelve months there were holorust, holoark, the new minecraft server, 7 days to die, holoGTA, pekora's 1 week hardcore minecraft, miko's restaurant, even mio's farm turned into a mini-event, laplus' tournament, enreco, etc.

Alot of these are actually talent-driven and only a few from management. The new minecraft one and enreco comes to mind.

People has gotten really ambitious with their projects and management actually approved all of them instead of turning most of them down like previous years.

Rather than "forcing people to dance" and shit. Remember they canned summerfes last year and probs this year as well. People are doing less singing and dancing. Except for those who got picked for the world tour or holding their own sololives.

It's been implicit since the beginning given that it's a book containing the powers of the Ancient Ones, but had AO-chan ever been explicitly called a copy of the Necronomicon until now?

It was very obviously an evil book spoof so kinda.
I think it's supposed to be "Necro Nomicon" though, both Ns are capitalized.

Apparently "The label on the cover of Ina's book reads「このネクロノミコンがやばい大賞!」("This Necronomicon is the insane grand prize!")". So from the beginning, but only if you can read Japanese.
