That's interesting. Even Gura who probably has the biggest opsec had no issues accepting the play button.

I don't think Gura actually has the biggest opsec, though. Her immediate family, at least, knows who she is. Mumei hasn't even told hers anything beyond that she does youtube stuff, and she hides any sign of hololive stuff whenever a repairman or whatever comes by. Also, Gura has the shark/hololive merch shelf, but I'd be surprised if she has her giant play button with "Gawr Gura ch" hanging up on the wall where anybody can see it.

I do find myself wondering what issues are "ok for some but not others". The only things that come to mind are workload, money, travel and human relations/interpersonal stuff.

Maybe the idea of constantly working and planning towards events and projects that are 1 or even 2 years away and never being guaranteed to see an outcome is draining motivation. Some people need to work with tangibles.

In what way? It's not like she is worrying about stalkers like JP talent. Plenty of families and friends know who Holos are, Chaama had a university friend collab, Lap had a roommate that knew, Milky and Calli were already friends. It sounds like self-isolation because of social anxiety which is fine.

Family members, friends, and roommates can be trusted to keep secrets (although they probably have to sign NDAs). Mumei apparently lives alone, far from family and friends. When she meets new people, and they ask her what she does, what is she supposed say? She can give vague answers about working online for an entertainment or technology company from Japan, but she can't tell them what she really does. Couple that with her social anxiety, and it must make it hard for her to make new friends.

I think a lot of it is how Japan-centric everything is, and then even when you DO go to Japan they haven't done the visa paperwork and you can't work, also JP girl #48 wants the studio at that time because it's on her way home from the grocery store, so you can just fly back home and fly here again when we have an opening.

On my end, I'm not sure how to feel about that members stream. It really feels like she has absolutely no plans to do any form of streaming in the near-term, and I made my peace with that, but I guess I was still holding out on some faint hope.
I'm trying to re-frame it a bit now and look at it this way; she did something she ended up enjoying for the time she did it and that is going to enable her to do something that has been a life-long passion/dream job for her (reading between the lines on the marine biology expedition stuff), and we as fans were a part of making that possible. I think that should be enough.

Since I think this season is about Promise/Council I do wonder if it will be 3 Dungeons or they will still do one for Fauna and Mumei as a late sendoff.
Or they will do all remaining talents together instead of gen based.

An animator has been sharing unreleased commissioned Gura animations, probably from scrapped projects.
First one seems to be a collab with Fauna, may have been intended as a continuation of the ASMR collab they did 3 years ago, where the animation was also done by the same person.


The second one could have been for a solo ASMR or something. She is wearing her school uniform outfit which she received back in 2023, I still remember she basically disappeared for a few months after showing it off, only appearing in a few collabs and official events.


I wonder how many more projects she has scrapped for whatever reason.

That part made me actually frustrated for her. Made even worse by it getting perpetually delayed to the point it wouldn't be ready until after she was gone. When asked if could get a backup 1 mil wish, they kinda just said "get fucked". I will never forgive the Japanese.
