Concerning the earlier theory, that someone who made it in was canned when the twins applied, leading to a previous model being shelved and a twin model of an existing one being made.

However, Holo does typically open auditions for five member generations, and it's safe to say that they didn't start the audition process with twins in mind. Models also have plenty of precedent of predating the talents (may or may not be tweaked after the talent has been picked).
So the possibility that a model was shelved to make space for the twins is actually a pretty strong one.
But shelving a model is such a waste... what if a sixth talent did make it in? Just not as part of this gen, but as, say, vsinger #2?

Designed by Lui's and Chloe's artists, respectively, they were unveiled in 2nd Fes and auditions were held for the characters, which I believe is when Chloe and Lui were hired (Lui mentioned having to wait a year to debut), but never ended up being used. Though, obviously, both artists were retained and asked to design the girls that became Lui and Chloe.

Nerissa is a giantess, tall girl lovers dining well this weekend. I like her black vibe with the white button up design it's almost like she's an inverse of Katta, sharp and black and blue as opposed to Katta's soft white and blue theme, I dig it.
She's like 5'9" that's hardly a giant it's just Hololive is basically all midgets.

Nerissa Ravencroft
With a deep love of song, Nerissa Ravencroft is "The Demon of Sound."
Her powerful love turned into a dark power that inhabited her singing, giving her music the potential to drive the entire world mad. The gods, fearful of her beautiful voice, decided to seal her away for eternity, but this did not seal away her desire to sing for others. While she was sealed away, she came across Japanese otaku culture, and is currently fascinated by idol songs and penlights. Maybe her life imprisoned wasn't all that bad.
Fuwawa Abyssgard
The fluffy older twin sister of The Demonic Guard Dogs, who were sealed away in The Cell for being a pain in the godly behind, Fuwawa Abyssgard is "The Fluffy One."
Her duty is to calmly look after her younger twin sister Mococo and their pet Pero, but that calmness can be short-lived. Ultimately, she is a bouncy and boisterous girl who loves to chat and play.

The fuzzy younger twin sister of The Demonic Guard Dogs, who were sealed away in The Cell for being a pain in the godly behind, Mococo Abyssgard is "The Fuzzy One."
The rambunctious Mococo spent all her time imprisoned watching anime and playing games, often roping her older twin sister Fuwawa and their pet Pero in for more chaotic antics. It's rumored that she took part in the prison break just for the heck of it.
No the image has her shorter than she should be. Doing the math, 175 is just a hair under 5'9" - still not quite a giant but a bit taller than she's shown

I checked if the profiles on the website differed from the ones in the video. The text does not (although it repeats to fill space), but during Fuwawa's and Mococo's sections, partially obscured lore for their pet, Pero, can be seen:
Pero, of course, doesn't have a profile on the website, so the video might be the only place this is viewable for now. Might pop up in full during their debut stream, if I had to guess.
Speaking of lore, somebody on reddit translated the runes in the book at the beginning of the video:

The more I see the less I think it's Beryl. The whole "is into idols" thing is something that
mom0ki talked about a few times. Her youtuber... I guess I'd call it an utaite group, was stylized as a "virtual idol group". Voice could work especially if she plays up a character, claims to eat meat, "Ope" is midwestern slang and Caitlyn is from the midwest, writing style with use of ellipses and she even occasionally ended tweets with ~ on her main. I mean, there are absolutely Nerissa style tweets:
