I think it's a brilliant move. No other major agency is making a play in this market except one shown itself to be run by a poop-flinging baboon so the market is ripe for someone who knows what they're doing to move in and lock it down, and Aviel has proven he knows what he's doing by this point.

Now to try to reel in the shitposting a little bit, is a ES branch actually a good idea? like financially? let's assume the hypothetical sceneria where the manage to find 5 decent girls that are not a complete drama mess and are actually entertaining while the branch still be profitable? Idol is not a huge brand like Holo or Niji that will get people looking their way jut by existing and outside of RIn isn't like the rest of Idol are powerhouses in term of viewers and and Subs, how many subscribers will the IdolES girls expect on debut and what average CCV?

Once the initial costs are out of the way - and Idol has shown it doesn't mind throwing down money on initial costs - it's just a matter of letting the girls do their thing and skimming the 30% or whatever off the top. This is an exaggeration but I contend that once you have the girls set up and monetized, it doesn't actually take that much to make a profit off of them, especially when your brand is big enough to give any new gen a boost out the gate - and Idol is big enough now.
