It's a different kind of entertainment. If you're looking for stand-up routines in vtubing, you're not gonna find them. They're not preparing and rehearsing a 30 minute setlist of jokes to use in each stream. The humor here mostly comes from how a vtuber reacts to and interacts with the content of their stream, be it a game, a video, or chat. Some are good, some aren't. I'm willing to believe that the specific example you're citing here wasn't that great because most "lol penis" stuff is pretty bad, but in general I do think that yes, there are vtubers out there who are truly funny.
Given that's the main reason I watch them now, yeah, I think there are plenty of funny ones out there. Granted, my definition of funny might differ from others, but I find myself laughing at a good amount of them that I watch, such as Lumi, Pippa, Tenma, Lia, Pekora, Panko, etc. Of course I'll watch some that aren't as funny for different reasons, but I like to laugh, so my favorites will more than likely be the ones that can make me laugh.
While there's definitely some good music in the sphere, I don't really care much for that side of it, given my preferred taste in music is rarely ever covered in this sphere, and I'm a picky asshole. I don't care at all about the idol aspect, nor do I give a shit about ASMR, GFE, or other content like that.

Can confirm. She seems to have realized (not sure if its just her of management advised it) that there is a huge hole left where Riifu was and the coomer market is extremely profitable and fairly untouched (when it comes to corpo vtubers). Not sure how I feel about it. It still feels a bit forced. Horny Fauna was very fun to listen to because of how much her ADD brain would just jump all over the place.

Its not about the giga success in my reasoning but more about learning a tiny bit about the vtuber scene that he said he struggled to understand, even within his friend circle he seemingly has alot of individuals who were standout and knowledgeable about how it works in the scene's relatively short lifespan, both in the JP and Western outlooks
It's an unspoken tragedy, really, a massive issue that just gets written off as something the poors have to deal with while champagne socialists one up each other over alphabet people. Humour is a part of engaging an audience, but I don't think it has to be the main focus, a constant presence, or even a frequent occurrence. It's just one thing of many that can endear someone to a streamer alongside life stories, discussing hobbies, music etc., and it's best when it comes naturally rather than to fill an imaginary joke quota.
That's part of why excessive sex jokes can come off as off-putting even among people who otherwise have no prudish tendencies; it's not because of the subject matter, it's the lack of substance. If the material can be summed up as "your model has big boobs" or "a guy in chat wants to have sex with you" then it's probably not earnest humour, it's to fill dead air and buy time because you have nothing better to talk about at the moment, and can come off as insecure. There's exceptions to the rule of course, but "I have to be funny all the time" is a beginners' trap in content creation, and hell, your funnier moments will almost definitely land better with the audience if they've got to know you and like you outside of that context.

A lot of the local drugs came put of rural towns because they don't have to deal with gangs, don't have to worry too much about law enforcement and the local policia can be rather corrupt.

I find Kaela's streams quite funny when she does stuff. She's good at improvising things. Like the Kaela Cinematic Experience, or taking the Flying Gorilla death scene as her outro, or the whole Kaelegskia stream.

In her twitter space yesterday she said what happened. She was out late with some friends and one of the girls that was pretty drunk really wanted to pick Lisa up and was forceful about it. Once she did she dropped her and Lisa fell on her face, busting open her chin requiring stitches and chipping a tooth. She's no longer friends with them after they were dismissive and never apologized for not properly taking care of her/giving a shit about her health.
The devastation is more lack of economic growth than raging violence. There are some hollers you'd best not poke around, but if you don't poke around you should be fine. You'd have to get waaaay off the beaten path to find places with no actual access to electricity, although you might need reservoir and septic tank for plumbing and non-satellite internet might be hard to get.
She popped in on one of Sena's streams a couple days ago.
