It's a rationalization for censorship. If you say it's a "safety issue", instead of a speech or freedom of expression issue, then you can justify making it illegal (and as a step to that, getting it banned from social media, publications, etc). I've seen tranny activist say, and I quote, "deadnaming is violence". Same thing.

This Veibei situation is a common trend. Pippa, marimari, shondo, etc can usually get away with edgy stuff because that's the audience they cultivated, they know what to expect. Non-edgy vtubers cultivate a certain audience of their own and when either shift their content to something different it pisses off their fans
Usually they can't please the people who dislike the change so their only option is to shed them. They can either do it slowly over time to regulate the flow of salt or do the Veibei approach of opening the salt mines.
In my opinion they should be themselves and stop cucking out to what ever happens to be the best way to climb the ladder of success only to kick it out from underneath when they reach the top, its quite homosexual behaivor.
Either way I'm enjoying this shit show
