Oh, man, another Lia stream that I'm on the edge of my seat for. I absolutely love these streams she's doing. (Hopefully this one involves less watermelon anal insertion.)
Quick summary on this guy: He was the writer of the long-running Sonic comic published by Archie who, due to a lack of oversight from Sega or Archie, ended up taking the story into some really bizarre directions involving characters merging with each other, alternate dimensions, complex romantic relationships with allusions that the characters were bonking off-screen, etc. He loved Knuckles and spun off dozens and dozens of other echidna characters. Eventually Sega saw what was happening and had Archie dump him and reboot the comic continuity into something more akin to what you would expect from brightly-colored animal friends fighting robots, but Penders, with delusions of grandeur, started doing crowdfunding to continue making comics about his echidna OCs, prompting legal attention from Archie. (I probably misremembered half of these details but it's something like that.)

The legal saga was actually a lot messier and the blame for that fell mostly on Archie's incompetence. During his tenure working on the comic Ken Penders introduced a lot of original characters who weren't present in the source material, and it was him who took Archie to court for continuing to use them after he left. Usually this would be a nothing case that doesn't go anywhere, but for some reason Archie weren't able to produce a signed contract with a work-for-hire clause that would have transferred the copyright of his work from him to them - suggesting either a) their legal department are laughably useless and didn't keep backups of anything, or b) they never had him sign one in the first place. Ken himself claims it's the latter (archive). There was a back and forth (I think at one point Archie claimed there was a contract but it was damaged? it was a mess), but ultimately they settled which led to Archie rebooting the comic series to the dismay of a lot of the readers.
Ken's a lolcow because of the sheer absurdity of his work (and the way his online behaviour is peak boomer - just recently he tried opening a Discord server while knowing nothing about how Discord works, which played out exactly how you'd expect with randos spamming BBC porn everywhere) but the legal stuff was just him taking advantage of another company's oversight for some easy cash. If you're interested in how bizarre his writing is this article sums it up - I know the author's bio is a huge red flag, but it's really eye-opening as to where his reputation comes from.

All I'll add is the time he broke open a wasp nest behind a wall during a 24 hour stream
He gets up to leave for the bathroom at 3:22:15 with his mic unmuted
Around 3:23:33 is when you hear the man scream and the action really starts and has to end the stream early
Couple of hours later he comes back to stream showing pictures and talking about what went down.
This man has so much bad luck. I don't understand how he has made it this far in life
