It's not always obvious right away, but I think the tell for whether someone's a genuine pipkin-haver or whether they're playing it up is if it escalates over time. The ones doing for attention will constantly need to one-up themselves to keep that appeal, like an autistic anime character equivalent of the ethots who swear they'll never do porn - only to get gangbanged by strangers a year later because the lingerie photos aren't getting the numbers any more. The ones who're genuine will probably be a consistent kind of unhinged because it's not something they're actively thinking about, it's just how they are.

Around time Zuthar stopped focusing on doing Gmod videos for his Youtube he started streaming a lot of twitch. This went on for four or five years with his primary game being GTA V RP streams - with some variety gaming. During this time Froot (at the time BSApricot) would regularly talk in his twitch chat. It's safe to assume that they started talking from there and became friendly.
After Zuthar debuted as LordCommanderChaos, with Froot being the artist for his avatar, he would stream Apex with Froot regularly. LordCommanderChaos also took a week or so off streaming to go to England - that's when/where the picture linked here was probably taken.
It's safe to assume they're friends, but there's not enough evidence to confidently assert anything further. It's possible that Froot's tweet had to do with some mundane personal life drama.

Konami solves this "elegantly" with powercreep. The only relevant cards are current decks, decks from a few releases ago and ever greens. A deck from 2 years ago is niche at best today, and a deck from 5 years ago can probably have all it's broken shit unbanned and it still wouldn't be able to do anything against today's top decks.
And yes, if you want to follow what is happening you basically have to know all the cards beeing played beforehand, because "being a book" in lenght is an old meme for yugioh card texts, that's the standard for more than a decade now. Each card doesn't just do one complicated thing by now, they usually do atleast 3.
