Essentially "Americanization" has turned distinct foods into basically the same thing.
Tacos vs Burrito basically boils down to burritos being full of beans while tacos are more open with garnishes and stuff added to them Burritos are on the go food Tacos are more for impressing friends (a party food)
Quasas are pure cheese and some kind of veg sometimes with cream
Enchilada's are Bird Meat or Beef FOLDED and topped with sauce overseas mostly uses tomato based causes but in mexico they usually go with Green Sauce / Salsa Verde which is Chillis and Tomatillos or Mole sauce which is made from treefruits and nuts.
Flautas are basically a enchilada but the wrapping is crispy instead of soft.
Are you describing Tex mex because you are describing all the Mexican places I have went to. And I'm not talking Taco Bell or Taco John's, those joints at least taste different

Different gravy. I usually use brown gravy everywhere else. This is the absolute best for biscuits, though.
Brown gravy is made from drippings while this is more of a dairy + flour base.
It's made with milk or cream.
I know how gravy is made my guy, I just questioned why it isn't the usual amerifat/britbong brown variety.
Sausage/country gravy is soooo good with chicken fried steak.
Because Americans have more than one kind of gravy? There isn't one monolithic American food culture, amigo. There's lots of different regional cuisines, just like any country.
