Eh I know there are a ton of amd fans but I just don't buy into it for the premium. Plus I plan to use for more than gaming which Intel seems to fit well with. Not to mention it would have added another $300 for a CPU when I don't really play many modern games.
Yet you're adding 300$ for extra fancy premium case. Priorities...
"Intel is soooo much better for media creation" is a particularly retarded myth, same for Mac. Last time it was true is 12-13 years ago, at least.
But yeah, if you mostly need to crunch some threads now and then, this intel looks cost effective.

I got the case on sale for $100 less than it normally is. I don't consider $149 to be too much for a good case.

Intel lost the only thing it had going for them, reliability.
Even nvidia gpus are being left behind in the area of multimedia creation: both Blender and DaVinci are working just fine in AMD rigs. If you're a cuck stuck with Adobe it's true, but Affinity is catching up and I'm more than happy to pay for Affinity V3 when they release it.

Most common Ryzen yabs are:
1) you mangle CPU corner and it second RAM c
hannel falls off, skill issue
2) you need to slightly raise voltage for stability
Then many cases when BIOS go corrupt in weird way and start working when you change CPU. Which is expected tbh, i know from a trusted source that retarded DEI hires now are allowed to write BIOS too.

I undervolted my CPU to bring temps down and clock up, worked, stable 4.5 on a 5600x.
One thing that is really weird in Ryzens is the compatibility with ram speeds if you have more than 2 sticks, I have 4x8gb and if I run them at 3600 (their native speed) the system becomes weird, but if I bring down to 3533 it runs completely smooth.
I don't know what happens inside there but you can't really expect much from minerals tricked into doing math.

There is separate voltage control for RAM bus controller, you can play with that. And maybe BIOS sets weird timings on auto. Also - update. AMD updating AGESA quite often, fixing exactly these sorts of issues.

RIP to the best extension Chrome ever had. Had switched to Brave a long time ago but still sucks to see Google take down the best adblock for good from their Chrome Web Store.

I meant to say, you can't get it on the Chrome Web Store anymore. My wording was a bit wrong but it's pretty obvious I meant the extension version.

Edit: And yes, I'm aware Ublock is switching to full Firefox support now. They're not completely dead.

IIRC Brave or Vivaldi said they wont be retiring manifest v2. Anyway, cat&mouse game continues, adblocking at large can't be killed without utterly suicidal measures.

EXPO is a fucking piece of shit technology and not fit for purpose on an architecture that relies so heavily on fast and coordinated RAM speeds.
I've never once been able to run my RAM at the advertised speeds on three different Ryzen generations because it was always horribly unstable. Multiple kits, two or four sticks, different speeds and timings (chosen based on Infinity Fabric frequencies) and that shit still crashes.
Stance of AMD support: "Tough luck, you'll have to give up a sizable chunk of performance and run it on base speeds"

My AM4 system with two different 2x8 kits (32 GB total) was a bit of a chore getting the ram to where I was happy with it day to day. They were Patriot kits with advertised 4400 XMP speeds, but dialing them in at 3600 was a pain because I didn''t want to just pump up the voltage.... Sounds like a similar song and dance with AM5, huh.

Download Firefox + 20 plugins to remove your digital footprint and call it a day. Very stable as long as you aren't retarded: don't update in the first 24h it's available.
I'm a smelly chromium user on linux, my fingerprints are all over the place....I really should just use firefox, but for whatever reason, I just don't care for its appearance/interface

Why do 3views and 4views no longer interest me…? Proctor, you’re a bad influence.

I use these

For Tampermonkey scripts it would be 4chanX, some Twitch and YT stuff.
There's a lot of options for opsec, if you want to know more: https://cheatsheet.haax.fr/open-source-intelligence-osint/tools-and-methodology/firefox_addons/

It's because you're a contrarian, Jackie. It's very obvious to anyone that has been paying attention.

Has less temp issues than the i7s and i9s while still doing well in gaming. Why lol?
Since Tourist is too retarded to actually explain the reason that Intel is a bad buy right now:

The firmware on the last few generations of Intel CPUs has gotten increasingly horrific. Intel has always had shit firmware, but the 13th and 14th gens are so bad that people are starting to abandon the platform despite the fact that Intel CPUs are technically cheaper and higher performance chips than AMD.

The basic issue is varying levels of voltage instability introduced by badly designed code that would then damage their badly designed circuits. This is leading to CPU crashes, overheating, premature chip degradation, and eventually BSODs. They claimed that their update this summer would fix the issues: it has helped slightly, but the core issue is apparently a circuit in the chip design that is inherently prone to failure when voltage runs through it above a certain level or when the chip gets hot. Their fix caps the code that was keeping voltage too high, but may also negatively impact post-patch performance since Gen 14 chips were all tested and benchmarked pre-patch. Plus the inherent problem isn't solved: if your chip gets too hot for any reason the circuit in question simply cannot handle it and may age prematurely. Thus crashing, thus death.

It's simply an unknown right now how stable Raptor Lake is, or even if it will be able to perform at the same level post-patch. The i5 you got will run cooler, so you might be fine: but fundamentally, recent Intel CPUs have faulty circuits and bad design in them that you have to work around and be aware of. Keep the packaging and be ready to take advantage of the extended warranty Intel put out if your chip goes bad.

EDIT: Also invest in a beefy CPU cooler and maybe even reapply thermal paste every now and then, it will be the difference between life and death for gen 14 systems

I was wondering why the Farms were down. Apparently so many people wanted to watch Destiny suck someone's dick that the site crashed.
