And if phase was smart then they wouldn't allow smaller corpos to leech off of them. I don't think they'll allow anyone but themselves because of the name, if they wanted other people in there they would've chosen a more neutral like "Vtubercon".
As for indies they'll probably go if paid to, because they'll know they're only going to do promotion.

what and get (somewhat rightfully) raked over the coals for being exclusionary (even if that is a good thing in most cases) chances are Sakana just wants a cut of fairly easy merchandise sales and providing a more local space where people have to come to him not the other way around.
Anyhow, with OffKai going on right now, it's actually a bit of a struggle finding anyone I'm subscribed to live at this time.

There's no shortage of conventions for non-Phase talents to attend. Anyone who complains about not being able to attend the Phase Connect convention as a non-Phase talent would be told to either try to join Phase Connect or stop being retarded.
Phasecon would have enough stuff to do with nearly thirty talents, and that's presuming there's not any more debuts or more Invaders between now and when the con happens. Meet-and-greets, talent panels, vendor hall, cosplay events, and you can run as big a concert/idol event as you wanted without having to worry about sharing with other corpos or how long the event lasts for. It doesn't have to be especially big, but you could justify several full days of event.
One thing I really want is for most of the shit that happens at the con to get shared online (my pet peeve about other conventions and not getting to see most of the event), with the benefit for attendees being they get that extra audience interaction being there in the crowd, live with other Phase fans.

Cons need sponsors and sponsors need an audience, Phase has much more to gain by housing artists and smaller creators than otherwise. Cons are also one of the few cases getting "paid in exposition" is worth it: imagine having your work shown in HoloFES or the annual end of year NijiFES, that shit will put you out to the world.
Phase is far from both but ahead of most of the indie market. They can start an alternative route for people unwilling to support Commiefornians or don't have the resources to even get culturally enriched on the west coast, so if Sakana is smart he could make it in Canada or another strategic place, say, East Coast or even Texas.
The truth is that we need more midrange cons to nurture regional but strong communities that can become a huge asset over time, same as how anime cons started.

#1 no it would give more fuel to the anti phase tards for free. there's no reason to disband talents from joining if they wish to. it's like walking around with a kick me sign.
#2 even bigger conventions don't field all their talents why would phase be an exception? and that's not even getting into scheduling and other logistics fuckery which would make it even harder even if they wanted to do it like that.
Heres the other half of the thing most hotels and places that rent out such spaces will demand to know the expected turn out in advance even if you did get all 30 talents in one spot at the same time thats a very limited turn out as it's only gonna be phase fans. but if you add indies smaller corpos and people who don't seem like axe murderers that audiance explodes making more money for both the rented area and Phase.
TLDR: outside of actual anti's there no reason to gatekeep the event especially if your goal is to make money (so they let you rent it again next year and or sakana can fish dive into the pile of cash he made)
#3 yeah online sharing would be a good idea even just setting up some cameras would allow digital attendance would be neat. the only reason i see for not doing this would be if the place has the ability to handle digital traffic and or sakana hiring a guy who can keep things running smooth.
Literally what fuel? If Sakana is putting his money, his time, and the time of his management and staff towards organizing a convention, of course he gets to say who's attending. If he only wants to promote his own talents, that's not only his right, that's smart business too. Hololive and Nijisanji have their own exclusive conventions specific for their corpos, and no-one thinks that they're entitled to attend Holofes or Nijifes if they're not part of Hololive or Nijisanji. Why would people suddenly struggle to understand this with Phase Con?
