I really can't stand the appeals to emotion, it's such an immature approach to business that's disturbingly common.
Intellectual Property has value, and is funded, sold, and traded just like physical goods. Some corpos absolutely make questionable and distasteful decisions with their IP and there have been times I've really wished corpo graduates could keep their character designs after the fact, but if the corpo own it they can do what they like with it, and they were explicitly given permission by the talent to make those decisions when the contracts were signed. If the corpo's doing shit that wasn't agreed upon then by all means give them hell, but I've never felt inclined to side with someone who tries to take-backsies after hands have been shaken.
If I thought these people were smart I'd assume it was a ploy to get all their shit paid for only to weaponise their audience against the corpo into giving them an unreasonably favourable deal when they leave, but I don't think many of them think that far ahead. People like that Zoey person are just children throwing tantrums.
