The announcement mentions ASMR specifically, so maybe that's literally the earnings only from those specific streams.So they all only collectively earned USD$1059.88 in a whole month? Somehow that seems low to me but I'm not familiar with their viewer metrics, or if they're just measuring by say what their actual YT makes and not any patreon or other side accounts they use. Just pulling one of their patreons (Mercy), counting the number of likes a post gets vs the lowest subscription tier, that one account pulls ~$500 in a month, measured in CAD at least, which comes to around $360 USD. If 3/6 of them pull that much in a month from Patreon that'd easily make up the value and then some.
Actually, fuck it. Let's count, I'm about to noomba some whoors. You can't like posts on Patreon without subscribing so let's go with the most hearts on a post for November.

Wow would you look at that, they've definitely all combined pulled in well over that $1050 something USD they donated from Patreon alone. This isn't counting whatever they've made from YT memberships, SCs, their fanslys and whatever other they might do on the side since they apparently have no rule against acknowledging their past identities. Yeah, sure, they price matched whatever was raised/dono'd by viewers but they could easily have doubled the amount and still been fine, I'm sure.
Nice publicity stunt at least, but if they really wanted to make a show of how much they actually cared about men's mental health they wouldn't have just price matched what some addled coomers pledged and would have dug into their own wallets to really sign a check. I wonder if they decided to go with an AUS charity to inflate the donation appearance even more, since the AUD is weaker than CAD even by like another whole .10.
Also not lost on me the irony this was pledged off the back of ASMR by a group created to specialize in the exploitation of lonely, frustrated men and they're not tapping into the fat cash flows they get from the most extreme exploitation (their r18 sexual patreon sex fantasy roleplays).

Yes, the point is though that it seemed like a low number for 6 vtubers with some amount of viewership to turn out, going towards a purpose that ironically coincides with the conceit of their business strategy as an AVtuber group. Because I never trust anyone's intent when money is involved, especially women whose career is virtualized prostitution, I have my doubts on the sincerity of their pledge especially with a vague notion of how much they're earning from what is essentially 4 different income streams and no inclination of where the inception of this donation pledge originates for them. Total earnings for a month? Total earnings in one chosen day? Some kind of specific donation drive event? They're matching the earnings of something by their own statement but $1000 split 6 ways (presumably) is chump change even for relatively small streamers with a devoted audience. I've seen smalltime indies with ~30ccv pull more than $1000 from a single stream if they were doing some kind of donation drive, so what gives? How did they cash out so poorly, unless per my distrustful ass, they're simply taking the least pricey option to keep as much money as they can but making a token donation just for the PR spin.
If I'm not misremembering, there was some whining from Stronny in the past regarding the other girls just doing their fansly/patreon content primarily, though I can't remember even how long ago that was. That would already tip my consideration towards them just being interested in their own profit. I'm already biased anyway though, because I despise the effect of people like this and the consumers that enable them causing weird stigmas on things like ASMR and vtubing by using it as a medium to push sex work yet again. I just want to have one fucking thing I can enjoy without risking running into some normie that side eyes me over it and asks "Isn't that a sex thing?", or even more onlythots whose entire purpose is to push their profile. I have an actual interest in both ASMR and vtubing as creative mediums for expression and they cheapen/ruin both simultaneously.

It was specifically ad revenue on their ASMR videos in November. Their promise was very clear and the number makes sense, and frankly you clearly weren't interested in what they promised in the first place so you're hardly in a position to call them out for, what, breaking a version you made up in your head.
Is it partly a publicity stunt? Sure, like many charity donations. Is it all of their revenue and more? No. But in my book $1000 is a lot more than nothing. If someone donates something and your only reaction is they should've donated more that's pretty miserable.
I mean that person was breaking their contract by prioritising the platform that got her a bigger revenue share, i.e. pretty close to what Yuri got fired from Phase for. So I don't think it's a reason to say VAllure is more money hungry than the rest of the industry. Sure, they're a business. So is almost everyone in vtubing.
