I dunno, when the nip foundation of the English language is watching some white guy rail the girls in their class every day, it makes sense why they have such difficulty with English.

I've met so many people that are ESL who have admitted they learned english either from video games or television and if they didn't admit to that fact I would never have known aside from not getting occasional idioms or other turns of phrase, which I'd chalk up to cultural differences anyway. I don't buy that "English is hard to learn". I've been trying to learn Japanese for 25 fucking years this same way and I can still barely read hiragana/katakana and know maybe 9 kanji.
I buy it. I used to have a few cats that were absolutely insane about their wire chewing to the point they were on the verge on full-on biting through live power cords. I had to buy a ton of cable sheathing and other protective wraps to keep them off the cables, I had to replace about a dozen separate cords for the tv/sound system setup in the span of two years and threw away at least two lamps because the wires were damaged to the point that even if I'd tried to tape them they might have lit up the tape.
Flare hates lying, possibly in general but likely only to people she considered friends. My rrat is that mikeneko spun too many tall tales and got on Flare's bad side.

I've heard some SEA kids who have never stepped foot in the UK have a fucking British accent by virtue of their parents letting them watch nothing but Peppa fucking Pig all day. Nips don't really consume Western media as much as other countries - unironically, it's a great English teacher by osmosis which is why there are Third World countries like the Philippines who speak English way better than the Nips.
I've met people like that too, learned an accent from a media source, then learned to suppress it the more they learned afterwards and realized that the accent is just a regional thing.
