Considering the info Doki has given, I find it hard to believe it could be anything other than her mother.
It would be one thing if the story was that the director stole money meant to purchase merch and ran off, but there's no financial incentive for her old director to steal her merch like this. Whoever did it was doing it out of pure spite.
And I find it especially suspicious how she never ever mentions any attempt to get her merch back from the director or file criminal charges. A whole ass shipment of merch doesn't just disappear, but she treats like it did.
The only way that makes sense is if the "director" didn't have any sort of contract and was doing the job on her word, like buying merch in her own name with no official affiliation to Doki. The way someone may do business with a family member or friend you trust, thinking you didn't need a formal contract.
Never do business with a friend. Even more so family member. Either of the two will fail, a business or your relationships. Everyone says it, every single course mentions it, yet it is so widespread you think people are doing it because they want it to fail
