If you get grabbed by the 3 fingers for the Frenzied Flame ending yeah. There's a cool post game cutscene with Melina if you do that.

The aftershocks he generates with slams can be useful to learn with as well. Good to get used to lingering damage
The horse combat kinda sucks to be honest, I wouldn't recommend it. You either cheese the enemies or it fumbles awkwardly and you get pasted by attacks you wouldn't have been hit by normally. Pippa's enjoying herself as she is and should just continue learning the combat fundamentals by exploring the game naturally.
