Yeah that's a fair take. The fact that this is going down with Twisty and still nothing seems to be happening to Aster is honestly disgusting but pretty expected from Niji.

Companies will always prioritize stability over morality, twisty has become a loose canon which they find hard to control, the other dude is basically in hiding and hasn't said or done anything after the initial explosion, guess which one they would prefer to boot out?

We've really reached a point in Niji's public perception were since everyone already hates them and will never stop hating them, and the only people left are bootlickers and those who don't give a shit, is there really any downsides to pissing off the EN side of the industry?

He is still suspended and not coming back. If they wanted to protect him, why wait? They could have just done all this day one.
I honestly don't get why everyone seems to think Niji is desperate to hold onto him, it's not like he was an asset. He was one of the lowest viewed and super-chatted livers even at the best of times.

The reason he isn't terminated and Twisty wasn't terminated until now is because they can't afford it. There are no good options and no good outcomes, no reason they could give that would jive with both their community and everyone that hates them. So they just waited.
Twisty has done them a giant favour by publicly giving so many people, including those that hate Niji, a reason to genuinely dislike her that getting rid of her is going to be much less of a pain. Aster hasn't been that stupid so far.

I could even see one of the reasons that there hasn't been a notice for Twisty yet being that they want to let both of them go, finally rip the Band-Aid off, and they need a little more time to get the necessary signatures from Aster due to timezone differences.

Yeah, she might post her art or the occasional song cover on her Shachi Twitter account, but I think she's probably done with vtubing. She probably wants to pursue a career in marine biology or whatever degree she has now. It's sad for her fans, but if she's happy then good for her.

It's a big reason her graduation had a much more sad aura around it than the majority of graduations--people knew she wasn't coming back. Hell, it's the reason I personally took the time for a high effort farewell art piece. Big, beloved VTubers know they can come back as an indie, and they typically do, but we all knew she wasn't going to. In terms of being an entertainer in the public eye, Mumei's gone.

Mumei is gone, and I really don't think there is a talent that could ever replicate the vibe of her streams, but Justice's dynamic is bringing new life into EN so it's not all too hopeless. I feel bad for hoomans who have to wait for scraps now however.
