As someone who grew up with Killer Instinct on the SNES and usually wears rose tinted glasses when it comes to video game OSTs, I prefer the SNES soundtrack over the new one.
Nintendo is probably worried about how weak the Yen is right now and is adjusting prices. Though the Console price itself is actually a reflection of changes in the industry. Wafers aren't getting cheaper at the same rate for a whole host of reasons. Also, Nintendo rolled out the Switch 1 with I believe a 4 year old chip already on a 3-steps back node when it launched. They got it really cheap. They screwed up the PR more than they really screwed with the pricing, though they are absolutely going to milk the early adopters.
The controller prices make zero sense but "greed". That's a separate issue.
