You basically answered yourself, the recruiters have been bringing on people which are much more in line with the company's work culture nowadays.
As for people's reactions, you have to keep in mind that HoloEN was basically the gateway drug for A LOT of western fans, a bunch of which stopped giving a shit about Holo after the pandemic and as they got more into vtubing and found shit they liked better, these people still hold myth and sometimes council to an insane standard, even though, let's be honest, myth is objectively a pretty lackluster gen in terms of output and cohesion and was by all means an experiment meant to perform along the lines of ID gen 1.
Holo never intended EN to be as popular or influential as it was, thus the hiring process wasn't geared towards longevity or "the future of the company", the company literally didn't have a future in EN at all.
