18 minutes clip of shion/polka yapping
- Shion kinda regreted not interacting with gen 2 more at the beginning, at most they make thumbnails together
- Unlike gen 1/gamers who had fubuki to resolve their shit, gen 2 was fumbling around on their own dealing with OBS and such and they were too timid to ask their senpai.
- Before debut, Gen 5 was actually told by their managers NOT to focus on branding as a group, in fear of their drifting apart/wanting to get popular individually later on. Gen 5 had an internal meeting and decided to not take that suggestion.
- Agreed that the dev_is approach (forming a group specifically for singing and dancing) would not fit them at all, Shion wouldn't join hololive if so. Polka would also struggle with it, but she knew she wouldn't be able to become an idol elsewhere (so she would still take a try at it)
- Gen 2/3 became idols despite not intending to and really good at it. Gen 4 is when there's a full shift toward idol shit.
- The most scared moment of Shion in hololive was telling subaru she's gonna graduate, she did a lot of mental preparation, and was fully ready to book it. Subaru actually accepted it well. Shion thinks she might have known about it beforehand.
extra tidbit not from the clip:
- One of the first people shion met offline was Aqua, Aqua was actually super talkative unlike her introvert image
- Polka avoided offline gathering altogether until last year when Flare started dragging her around and she's more open to doing it now
- Fuwamoco raid, confirming that they sync off-stream as well
- Shion Q: have you fought with a holomem. Polka: Not really, maybe I had some difference in opinions with Lamy early on, but we sat down and resolved it, but it only happened because we didn't know each other well back then.
- Question from deck: Do you want to be in a popular group who doesn't get along or a unpopular group that gets along well
+ Polka: the popular group. If it's work, I can give it all regardless
+ Shion: the unpopular group. It's more important to have fun.
- Before joining, polka was scared of catfights when you put so many women in close proximity, but nothing like that happened (to them that is, matsuri and rushia would like to object). It's actually easy to get along when you share interest in anime, manga and drama. When hanging out with multiple holomems, if you stop talking, someone will ask you if you are okay and people always make an effort to talk to the more introvert ones. Both Shion & Polka are on the getting asked side.
