Our local game shop only survives because of another business they do that gets people in the door when they also see the games. The prices are absolutely terrible, we're talking more than Ebay prices, like $100 more in a couple instances I saw. When you buy online you're paying for convenience and shipping, shouldn't be charging online prices in a brick-and-mortar. It's bullshit.

This is why brick-and-mortar stores are having trouble making business, man. I want them to survive but greed kills it. They also sell bootleg stuff and fanart prints they definitely didn't pay a commercial fee for.

If these characters get their deserved retribution by the end, like the bit of what just happened, I will take back everything bad I've ever said about this game. In such a case I would consider the author a genius and not an edgy tumblr writer.

I thought so too, but I'm really starting to doubt. It's hard to tell because the author oscillates between having the story indulge in the siblings' shittiness and the other side. It could be the "canon" end and still be bad, I suppose.
They're writing in way more "critique" of these two than I thought there'd be... of course now we're going to kill a family with a kid for fun so I'm still not sure.

Nemlei isn't a writer who shies away from honest portrayals of dysfunctional relationships and people in her works, even in toxic abusive relationships there are good days that make dealing with someone terrible for you feel "worth it", and there's already some pretty terrible endings in the game for the Graves siblings where their worst traits destroy each other. Physically or just spiritually. There will be a "happy end" at some point though, since challenging and overcoming stuff like that is also something she likes to do.
Honestly I kinda wish she'd just release the whole thing when it was finished rather than piecemeal. It's good but I get the impression it's ballooned out of proportion with its success and how it's planned to branch. We're looking at something like 2-3 more years to finish it to write the Burial branch and then a combined ending where they join or two leading on from the cliffhangers in Decay and presumably Burial.
