Lord of the Rings (as movies) suck balls. Then you look at something with the same extent or maybe even longer, Monogatari, and it's a masterpiece adaptation across many iterations.

I agree, the production team itself was really into it but shortening them to movies didn't help the storytelling part. Maybe it's made for people who can't imagine the pages of descriptive content of the books, I dunno.
