Did FIshman really banned Pippa from interacting with Kirsche? all i remember is her recent 1 on 1 collab Pippa had to go as i guess not Pippa but a random PNG and it was only on Kirsche channel, but then also a couple months after Pippa and Kirsche had a collab with Filian while Pippa was using the Pippa model..... soo im guessing this is a case of:
- "Pippa you are not allowed to collab with Kirsche under the Pippa character"
- "Pippa and all phase talents, if Filian asks for a collab, any rule or project or whatever you are doing is being abolished and you have to attend it no matter what"

They should be worried about potentially losing a huge sponsor, if the con's a success and Fish realises he doesn't need to buy good graces at OffKai any more. The other big players like Hololive and VShojo aren't gonna be interested, the smaller corpos wouldn't be able to afford as much. I guess Brave might see value in shilling a bunch of their shit but their public reputation seems to flip every couple of weeks so them having so much influence might piss off the volunteers too, depending on the timing of the con in relation to their latest questionable termination or callout post.

It'd be interesting seeing what sponsors from outside the vtubing industry they could pick up really, vtubing is huge now but it's also a more complicated elevator pitch to mainstream advertisers.

Could be interesting to have an "Indie" Alley where the talents have their own little table where they can sell their own merch and interact with the fans.

Running events like this without breaking the bank is all about matching up revenue and expenses.

For example you want the cost you're charging for a vendor booth times the number of booths to equal the cost of renting the vendor hall plus any associated expenses. Maybe you add a little more to give some room or make a profit. Maybe you undercost it a bit if you think you can make it up in ticket sales.

Conventions have a few sources of income:
- Tickets/badges
- Sponsorships/advertising
- Booth sales

You can usually match these pretty neatly with associated expenses. Attendee tickets go to the cost of the rental and all of the static costs (furniture rental, equipment rental, insurance, security, any staff you're paying). Sponsorships might line up with the costs associated with guests and setting up special panels. Sometimes you can even get these to line up 1:1 for example get a company to sponsor a particular panel.

Of course you don't have to match revenues with expenses so long as the books balance in the end, but doing so is a neat shorthand way of keeping things under control, and makes it easy to predict and estimate where you might have profit or fall short.


PhaseCon would have a few unique advantages:
- Firstly, they don't have to pay for guests if they don't want to. 29 phase girls should be enough for the celebrity portion, it's entirely possible they'd get vtuber friends to guest for free, and fan volunteers can do fan panels. Should they pay to have Hololive show up? I'd argue these days it's an even bigger draw to get someone like Dooby or Nimi to do a half-hour event and probably an easier sell and less expensive.
- Secondly and more importantly, PhaseCon will be the single biggest day of official Phase merch sales. They can likely sell as much as they can stock beforehand. Speaking as a Phase fan, I wouldn't go to PhaseCon without also having a budget for con-exclusive official merch. I think a lot of vtuber fans are like me - if we're spending significant money already, we're not afraid of spending more money to expand the experience. Phase can make merch front and center in a way that can't be done at most cons, like Hololive does at HoloFes.
- This is kind of weird to say, but even OffKai doesn't really take advantage of being an event mostly about online influencers. I think there are two big events that do this fairly well. HoloFes is the most relevant example - you have mixed media events at the con itself and a massive digital concert sale, all of which doesn't cannibalize attendance. TwitchCon is the other example but I am much less familiar with how it integrates streaming into the con itself.

The downsides:
- Phase itself is fairly niche and you don't have the wide OffKai style draw, though I think there are plenty of Phase fans who would show up to PhaseCon and not OffKai. It would definitely be a smaller event and finding volunteers to help run it might also take a bit from its paying attendance.
- First year is going to be a gong show, pretty much no matter what. Imagine the kind of rrats people will throw out when Phase has massive persistent tech problems at their own event. It will happen.
- Events are generally trash for advertising. You aren't going to make Phase bigger by having a big convention. It's better to think of them as ways to milk money and add enthusiasm to existing fans.

Yeah the booth sales often goes to offset the cost of renting the convention and the earnings come from the ticket sales. So even if a conventions barely gets anyone in the door, the rental is often covered by everything else.

Selling convention only merch could be a great FOMO shit to get people to buy shit. Anything that is leftover can be recycled to the gacha bags at another event later on.

When it comes to Hololive wanting to participate, im sure they probably would be fine with it. I wouldn't pay them to do so though even if they get people in. If Phase manages to partner up with a game company that might include DLC or maybe work a game around including some Phase extra assets in their games they could probably get game companies to have their booths and whatnot but that one might be harder.

Food-related companies are also good to have around. Protein bars, cereal, energy drinks and whatnot and these companies already have an extensive soft marketing budget that they use to promote and have boots in many of these conventions. I honestly think the thing that will sell it the most or make it worth it is having the talents host their own panels possibly talking about Vtubing in general and a few Q&A panels. Additionally having more meet and greet and interaction panels which is probably what fans love the most.

I can see both sides but I hope he at least paywalls some events so the people paying don't feel ripped off. I think con concerts shouldn't be public until like a month later after the con. I'm really interested what he's planning. I was going to say maybe even try some fighting game tournament for prizes in merch but it will attract the horde of fgc homos who just join tournaments for the sake of it.
