Might have been military-attached, like her father was an engineer type. Knew a family, when younger, that the father was an aerospace engineer and they ended up moving around quite a lot. He also had been on Area-51 and it's actually as boring of a flight testing facility as you'd actually expect.

I hadn't thought about that family in ages, and just remembered he was at Lockheed Martin's Skunkworks. Which is why I asked him about Area-51. Thinking back when the family would have arrived in that area, he must have been working on the F-22 and left after all but production was done. Interesting.

Whenever someone mentions they moved around a lot while growing up, like 90% of the time it's because they had a parent in the military. Baltimore has Fort Meade, so that checks out.
