"Uruka and I were talking about 'nuttin' in the context of like 'yabai nuttin', and Airi goes 'Wait Nuttin? what's Nuttin like tunak-tunak-tunak?'"Lia Rinkou
Yeah that's just reddit which is just not what she wants.
I will agree she can be defensive of the audience but I have a hard time agreeing with the small amount of shit we get here being an issue but vt's shit throwing being okay and her still as openly as she can visiting there. Even if you widen it to her corpo-mates you can't pretend we are anywhere near as hard on Rie (Superduper excused) or Lumi & Yuri as some of the shitflinging I've seen even in the /pcg thread let alone vt as a whole.
She also complained about /vt/ when she said this place was too negative. In fact she has complained about stuff on /vt/ numerous times. It isn't about her not wanting to be around negative stuff but her wanting another place to go to so she can have an alternative. She want's to be on /vt/ she wants to be here and she wants another place she can go to talk about vtubers that's in between a hugbox and this place and /vt/ and no that's not what reddit is. Reddit does go on about drama a bit and IS a hugbox when they do. She doesn't want that or the up vote and down votes that come with it.
I would like to know more. I don't see any mention of it on their Discord server, but I don't follow it too closely - there don't seem to have been any announcements for it. I've been trying to find a server I can shitpost on in this and adjacent communities and Kirshe's has way too many mods.
Well, me too. Reddit wasn't always Reddit. It used to be all right. Like many things it was ruined by the '16 election and subsequent fallout and its stupid new design didn't help either.
Kick is a new streaming site which, according to rumor, was made by some online casino company after Twitch tightened up rules on streamers gambling on stream. It kind of has that gross Twitch-ish alt-platform streaming site look that Cozy, Trovo, and so on all have so it's easy to imagine it eventually having the same level of relevance to everyone who isn't a federal asset, but it seems to be getting a lot of attention recently nonetheless. Pippa tried streaming on it a few weeks ago and gave up on it after a few minutes due to technical issues. I decided to give it a try myself, scheduling a stream on it for Tuesday, but tonight I did a quick guerrilla stream there just to make sure it would work. And… it worked just fine for me. Not sure what the rabbit's problem was.
In terms of vtubers, there is a separate "V-Tubers" category, but I'm not sure if that means that vtubers can't stream in other categories - it doesn't seem to be documented anywhere if so. I've never seen a 3view or more vtuber there though, and just as with Twitch you'll find the cross-tubers, the mutes, and so on. The most talented one I've seen so far is CurrentPulse, a mousegirl PNGtuber who had good voice and banter but poor audio balancing (and also she was playing Genshin).
The streaming back end is functional and should be familiar if you've used Twitch. One annoyance is that the chat pane on the back end is in a weird place - for my window layout, anyway - and can't be popped out or moved, so I wasn't able to position it in a familiar place on the edge of my vision so I could notice when messages came in. I think it's possible to pop it out from your actual stream page but ideally you could just keep it on your stream management page like you can on Twitch. Growing pains I guess.
The big way that Kick is appealing to people already using Twitch is by offering a 95% cut of subscriptions, rather than Twitch's 50%. That means if you have 100 subscribers at the $5 tier, you're taking home $475 a month rather than $250. That can definitely add up the more subscriptions you have. We'll see if that's sustainable for them. Sure, you're probably going to get fewer net subscribers there than Twitch due to pure numbers, but there's no harm in using both and gently nudging people towards subbing on Kick rather than Twitch - certainly if the people I'm subbed to on Twitch were to open a profile on Kick, I'd gladly move my subs over and be happy they're getting more of my money (and that dweeb Bezos is getting less). Currently there's no equivalents of Twitch's bits so there's no way for your subbers to double-dip and throw more money at you without going through a third-party service like StreamElements, but I assume they've got something like that planned as we speak.
I think it's worth keeping an eye on. It would be nice if a 3+view came over and helped build up the scene there - or maybe Pippa could give it another try. Certainly I think people playing really boring-looking online slot machines (and getting 4k+ CCV, WTF) are better company than the political spazzes and conspiracy theorists (but not in the fun way) on other "alt-platform" video sites.
Here's my Kick channel. I'll be doing Hotline Miami 2 on Tuesday evening at 6:00 PM PT, 9:00 PM ET. Will probably do one or two more guerrillas there throughout the week if it goes well.
She was absolutely talking about posts made here and not the reputation. Pippa is pretty defensive of her audience and this place does at times like to shit on her audience and people in her audience.
I know I was one of the people talking about it when Pippa said this place was too mean, but really, my first and biggest mistake was assuming that Pippa actually knows how to convey what she means or wants.
As for shitting on her audience, lol, lmao. Why don't they make another offhanded shittalking documentary about her over it?
When did Pippa say this place was too mean? I don't know if she has even seen this site or if she has why it would matter ? not like its some secret clubhouse. People ego search or they dont.

If they want to. It's not the only time this place has shit on her audience and it still doesn't change the fact that Pippa is defensive of her audience and has expressed that on stream.

Also here's some cute fanart i saw while checking Junipers tag
It was name dropped on a stream some time ago, she mentioned this place is(was?) too negative. Maybe it is, maybe not. Really just depends on your perspective on things. As a content creator, I could see how one could perceive this place as a bit harsh and therefore negative. People here really don't pull their punches when they don't like something, nor should they. But that might be intimidating for the average vtuber. For the average person however, this place can be quite a fun little spot where you can chat about your oshi and have it remain (relatively) civil at all times.
And I like to believe we've at least become a bit more positive over the last few months. Certainly the Rie arc has made me appreciate a bunch of the Phase members now, and now I know who all of the members of Phase Connect are! Think the only time my perception of a vtuber has changed for the worse is Froot, but I mean that was kind of bound to happen.
A short test by NijiEN Scarle where she... went to a empty beach in black sweater/gloves testing out her bodycam. While it is a neat test, I still question the decision of going to a beach wearing black when the sun is out there or someshit.
I’m Marty (cis-male he/him/his). I do in-home therapy and music on the side. I love learning about others different from myself, and I do my best to try to understand everyone. A close friend once...
1) minecraft server ip is on Senacord, Flavrcord was dead until it became Sawacord.
2) Pippa had a good stream on kick and all of shortcomings of the platform and all other "alternative" platforms. Tldw dont bother, use twitch.
