Just wondering, how many years do you guys think it takes before we let content creators move on from their past actions? Do we believe that redemption is even possible? Or, do we hold the mistakes and bad behavior over the heads of content creators forever? Genuinely interested in where the community stands.
I mean, if you hold a poll
here, then Froot's past behaviour on Discord would render her this forum's favourite.
She's not being mocked for her personality four years ago, she's being mocked for the hypocrisy between her acting then vs. her acting now.
But of course, opinions, people can change over time. Such things can be mocked, but they're not really a big deal. Can be resolved with a 'Yeah, so I was stupid back then. So what?' even. Usually makes the attacker look like an ass who cannot let go and needs to grow up.
Which is probably why nobody bothered to dig that shit up until the moment Froot was perceived as throwing Silvervale under the bus with her 'Friends making mistakes' comment.
Which rather comes across as mocking, rather than supportive.
Despite having done
considerably worse herself.
And after Silvervale received death threats and while breaking down on stream.
At that point, people just started throwing shit at the wall to see what sticks because they
really dislike Froot as a person.
And having read the threads on the topic on /vt/ yesterday, yes, people seem to take rather more offence at throwing Silvervale under the bus than the Mermaid thing.
