It's basically D&D 5e since it's based on the SRD5.1 rules. Pretty much as legally close to D&D as a product can get without brand licensing, and it's pretty solidly made as well for the base game, and the campaign tools are decent enough to produce some good content and simple enough to be accessible to non-autists. I've even posted a few pretty simple and straight forward scenarios myself to test the waters.

Plus, he's got perms for it, and probably just wants to take a run through this cool new scenario he's downloaded. I don't believe Taa'keschee is a Wizard, he is more akin to a Warlock who signed a contract with "Yaag'ooo" a very disregard dread lord to obtain power beyond his wildest dreams. The party Bard Axl was also given this contract once, but he didn't know how to read infernal so he decided to turn it down because Vespear the party Eldritch Knight made the wise choice to only sign if he could read the fine print. Axl being the young plucky guy who respects Vespear's wisdom took his advice and didn't sign the contract and potentially turn against the party. This would have been a very heart breaking scenario, I was literally pissing and crying at the idea suspense that Axl might betray the guild. I was thought it'd be Magine, the female dragonborn who's class I forgot, she always seemed a little sussy ngl.

Playing devils advocate here for a small thought experiment, what do you think the "limit" would be for how long a corpo vtuber would last if they openly removed superchats?

A stream? a day? week?

Ame used to turn off superchats pretty regularly (and maybe still does, I haven't been watching her so much recently) with no apparent repercussions from Management.

[Edit] Plus there are the games that don't allow it too - but people still stream them. I don't think it's the huge deal to corrporate that folks seem to be assuming. They have a lot of other income streams...

Honestly, disabling the superchats harms more the creator than the corpo. The corpo has multiple vtubers as source of revenue while the vtuber is mainly superchats or donations by things like streamlabs.

So I don't think management cares a lot more than the vtuber about it

I just don't think turning superchats off is that big of a deal to be honest. This early in their careers maybe as a sort of proof of concept, but the financial situation isn't as desperate as I've seen some people portray.

TLDR; I don’t see any ‘moral’ dilemma from Vesper about superchats outside of a few specific scenarios.

Worth repeating:
- Turning off superchats sometimes isn't a big deal for Hololive. Holos in general (e.g. Ame) are allowed to. Vesper specifically was banned from doing so. You can argue that was unfair or condescending, but you can also make a case for it (e.g. Tempus is a fledgling branch that does get more wrangling, like how they initially only streamed for one hour a day).
- The fight may not have been about the SCs per se (and since SCs were off in the return stream, that may have been resolved in Vesper's favour). The SC issue is just the one conflict between Vesper and management that we know about, and Vesper's approach was dumb, even if we assume for the sake of argument that management slighted him first. If he used this approach for conflicts that we don't know about, management was bound to have words sooner or later. Maybe he blew up at them when confronted. Maybe not even that; depends on how bad his anger issues are.
- I agree SCs are not so much a moral issue for Vesper, but more something he just feels weird about.
- Management is not static. IIRC Kronii mentioned a while ago in a member stream that her manager changed and she was much happier with her new one. That isn't even going into the tumultuous relationship the JP girls seemed to have with management before mid-2021. So I hope things work out for Vesper.

Is that true? How does Vshojo make money then? Just never-ending venture cap funding? Are they making money from merch alone?
