I don't think it's a big deal if adult entertainers become vtubers. Earlier this year, we had Ember Amane doxed as working as a cam girl named Olivia Heart around six years ago, and as Ember, she's quite entertaining without relying on her sexuality or appearance. Vtubers are the equivalent of buskers - they're free entertainment, and if they're entertaining you, you can throw some money into their proverbial hat. You don't need to know their life story.
I realize it's anathema to bring this up in a v-tuber forum, but the line between providing entertainment vs. providing... entertainment has always been a blurred one. When you break it down, v-tubers (or streamers in general, really) often end up straddling that weird Geisha line where our donations equate to paying people for personalized companionship. The internet and parasocialism just blur the borders of it and let more people feel engaged at once. And one of the interesting things about the history of the Geisha is that a good chunk of them started out as courtesans who didn't want to have sex for money anymore.
Like, how many v-tubers that we know of used to be gravure models, for instance? I can think of a few.
