Not disagreeing with you on the other points, but in many Asian cultures older family friends are addressed as Aunt or Uncle for respect and in some cases, if they don't seem old enough for that title, they are called brother/sister instead. No blood relation required.

It's weird because one wouldn't say flesh idols performing live is hubris. Granted there are potential tech issues but maybe their workflow is smooth enough now that it doesn't take much time from mocap to performance. As an aside would people prefer live shows with a chance of issues/mistakes...
