I suspect that we're not going to get the number of attendees for the parade, given that Trump is prone to exaggeration, and the other side hates Trump and wants to denigrate anything he does. I'm seeing estimates between under 200,000 people, and over 250,000. In either case, that's a lot of people coming to see the parade.
I think the event had the effect intended. People in the military, have family in the military, or have had parents, grandparents or the like that served enjoyed it. A lot of businesses in Washington would have gotten a financial boost from the event, with a couple hundred thousand people in the city wanting food, entertainment, accomodation, and want to do other things while in Washington DC. It would have convinced younger people to want to join the military, and will help boost recruitment numbers in the future (even though they are currently over 100% of the intended recruitment rate). The democrats also worsened their reputation since they tried to campaign against Trump and the military parade, which is not a good look. Looks like a success to me.
The next phase is F-35s with integrated LCDs in the wings to display commercials and M1A3s with gold colored Trump Tower slat armor.
