Over the week, Subaru's album reached #1 on Recochoku (JP music service) and Billboard Japan's downloaded album list:

She mentioned in a members stream a while ago that if we see something that could hint at a sololive, she really hopes that we buy it. I'm certain she was referring to this album, so it's a nice sign to see it doing this well. Not too bad for someone that doesn't consider herself an artist.
If I may recommend a song besides Hoshi Akari, she did a banger song for Oozora Police, featuring Bae doing a godlike rap and Marine, Fubuki and Noel yelling for no reason:
But give the whole album a listen! It's full of cheerful, heartfelt bangers and it'll move her one step closer to her sololive.
She also talked about Shion during her watchalong stream and her morning stream:
- Subaru's known about Shion's decision for about 3 months or so.
- Rather than sad, she was more so genuinely concerned about Shion's health and wanted her to get a ton of rest.
- Ultimately, she has to go on her own road so Subaru wants to support her as her friend and her comrade.
- They've been talking a lot behind the scenes, including making plans to going fishing together.
- They were both kinda sad about the 6th Fes split. Shion was on Stage 2 while Subaru and the other Gen 2 girls are on Stage 3.
- But she decided she wanted to cheer her on as much as she could. (And she did so yesterday)
- She hoped for Shion's final Fes to be a wonderful, happy memory and that Shion's fans could enjoy themselves to the fullest.
- While working on her 6th anniversary live, Subaru realized that while she was doing it for us, she was also doing it for Shion.
- Everything Subaru wanted to say to Shion was packed into her last performance: "A future full of blessing for me and you."
- Subaru came up with this mid-stream but on Shion's graduation day, she plans to give her the Exodia cards. Like what Yugi did to Jaden in the first episode of GX.
- She almost has the complete set so she's gonna put them into a bouquet and give it to Shion.
- She's hoping for Shion to smile until the end, so she wants to make her laugh and go "what the hell" with this
The only thing I can say is that I'm so proud of her and how much better she's handling this graduation![]()
I knew a fellow bird fan would understand
The 2nd to last song is "Hoshikakeru Sora e" (Towards the Sky Where Stars Run). It's actually the song she sang for her solo performance in 6th fes!
She said it's a song she made to cheer on those who are working hard at daily life, whether it's school, clubs, work etc. She also realized partway through working on it that it was meant not just for us, but for Shion as well. It ties hand-in-hand with her 6th anniversary live but basically, it's a hopeful song that's meant to tell everyone to head towards a happy future along with her.
The last song is called "Shubatto Danzai! Oozora Keisatsu" (Shuba's Judgment! Oozora Police). The title says it all. It's a super fun and chaotic banger about Subaru being the Oozora Police and trying to arrest people for being degens. Bae is in it as Subaru's international assistant, but the other voices are Marine, Fubuki and Noel. I agree it would make for an amazing MV, but Subaru MVs are rare in general so we can only hope for now.
While I'm here, @Abomination said his favorite on the album was the 1st song. It's called Hoshi Akari. I talked about it a bit when I rambled about her live but it's a remix/arrange of Starlight, the song she released for her 4th anniversary 2 years ago. Starlight is a song dedicated to 2nd gen and their journey together. When she sang it for her 5th anniversary last year, she realized that Starlight was really about her inner, ideal version of 2nd gen. She talked about this after Aqua's graduation, but basically she wanted 2nd Gen to be united and do stuff like original songs, streams and eventually concerts together. Starlight was about that desire to go on together.
So with Hoshi Akari, Subaru and the director knew that it wasn't an "answer" to Starlight, but wanted it to be about Subaru's resolution and drive to push onward. She didn't say this directly, but more specifically imo, it was to push past that sadness of Aqua and 2nd gen leaving her behind. The theme for Hoshi Akari and her 6th anniversary live in general is reaching a conclusion and then starting over again so she can keep going. It was the "Resolution Song" Subaru reached after everything that happened last year. This song, Hoshikakeru Sora e and the other songs she chose were all done to reach the conclusion of "Keep moving forward." It was also her 2025 new years resolution which is why it all hit like an emotional nuke during her live.
Somehow I rambled again but yeah duck love. She put so much heart into her album and her live

Subaru had a members stream earlier. Not sure if I'll do a more detailed post due to time and energy (and I wouldn't even know where to post it if I did lmao) but here's some stuff:
The topics shifted a bunch but most importantly, she herself has no plans to graduate. Frankly, Hololive is still so much better than the part-time jobs she had to do back then, which helps her get through any hard times. As long as she can be happy here with us and her friends, that's what matters. The simple fact that we can come home after school/work and feel better when we see that Subaru's streaming is what's most precious to her. When she leaves, it'll only be because she accomplished everything she wanted to do. And because of that, she likely won't become an indie after Hololive. She'll just accept her freedom and move on. Though she isn't sure what'd she do next.
Someone asked what would happen to her if Cover exploded and died first. She fully believes that won't happen. The talents are able to trust Yagoo cause he's much more stubborn than people think and he genuinely has their best interests at heart. That's why they can still joke around and use his name for memes and stuff. This became a small tangent where she said around debut time or a bit before, she got into a genuine argument with him. Like they were both shouting at each other and it reached a point where she thought she'd never forgive him.
She's still surprised she made it this far without getting fired. But she thinks part of what caused that argument was how bad her home life was at the time. Due to her poverty and the responsibility of providing for her family, she was in a pretty rough mood a lot of the time. But that's exactly why the current times, where things are relatively peaceful, are the best.
There was a bunch of other stuff like her plans for her nasal surgery, her own idea for affiliate status, some thoughts on Gura, Aqua, Shion, management, her album selling well and using it as sololive pressure, more of her history and poorer years etc but again, can't say when or if I'll get around to it. For now though, she's doing great. It was just nice to see how wise she's become while somehow still able to maintain that retarded, amazingly bright energy of hers.

Here's a summary. It was one of my favorite streams of the year so far and re-watching/doing a write-up was nice weebspeak practice. Pretty difficult with everyone laughing loud as hell though.
The Oozora Subaru Lovey-Dovey Championship. Hosted by Marine and Miko, it was a quiz battle to see who loves Subaru the most. The participants were Noel, Watame, Bae and Su:
Quick rules:
Now for the "plot twist," Subaru started a stream at the same time with a very subtle thumbnail:
- Subaru herself was not in the stream. Marine told her to not watch and stay away so the participants could feel free to say anything they wanted to without limits.
- The participants were shown a photo of Subaru and a situation. They then decided how best to respond to said situation. Because Subaru wasn't there, Miko was the judge instead. She would give them points based on how she imagined Subaru would feel about their answers. Marine felt that she could give an accurate rating due to being one of Subaru's best friends.
- The winner would get a "Do anything you want with Subaru for 1 day" ticket
- Marine ran a pre-stream poll to see who chat thinks would win. Noel had the majority of votes at 61%, then Su at 17%, Watame at 16% and Bae at the lowest with 6%.
She did a free chat for the first 5 minutes, then very quickly switched to a watchalong of Marine's stream. She revealed that it wasn't Miko doing the ratings, but Subaru herself. She would rate the participants' answers and tell Miko her judgment in Discord, then Miko would tell that to the participants while pretending it was all her.

Towa officially came back from her month-long break earlier today
After she grinded hard for weeks to compete in two Street Fighter 6 tournaments (both of which she did amazing in), she took all of April off to relax and catch up on work stuff. Though during her break, she did a sponsored stream, competed in an Overwatch tournament and of course showed up to say goodbye to Mumei. She reassured everyone that she has Mumei's contact info so they'll be keeping in touch.
Today was a chill chatting stream though. She mainly talked about how she was in Ririka's live earlier today. They practiced and recorded for it during the SF6 tournament time so Towa was very busy. Didn't help that the dance was difficult and that she got incredibly sick along the way, but she did her best and it came out great. She wants to do something together with Ririka again sometime as she thinks they work well together. She also talked about her POV of the Universal Studios trip she went to with Subaru, Fubuki, Mio and Suisei. Lots of adorable screaming and good times were had.
Towa also made a cool announcement. She'll be starting a new project this month:
View attachment 98047
The Holo Member Original Song Introduction Project
- On the 20th of every month at 7PM, she'll be doing a stream where she introduces and talks about original songs made by Holo talents.
- You'll be able to submit recommendations through a Google form. You can choose a song, write down what you love about it and why.
- The Google form for May is linked here. She apologized for making it on such quick notice.
- Only one entry per month. You can submit the same entry for next month if it doesn't get picked.
- Obviously it doesn't have to be her songs only. You can pick any song from JP, ID, EN and DEV_IS.
- If the talent isn't busy, she also wants to get a comment from them talking about their song if it gets chosen.
- This might end up being a segment where the member shills their own song for a bit but we'll see.
- The songs don't need to have an MV to get chosen.
- It doesn't have to be a popular song either. Songs that you wish people listened to more are perfectly acceptable. Basically as long as you love it and want her to talk about it, it's fine.
- This is limited to songs made by a current Hololive talent herself. This means no songs directly from Cover (Stuff like Shiny Smily Story, Kirameki Rider etc) or songs made for sponsors/groups (Stuff like that one NISSIN ramen song or the UMISEA original song).
- No songs from graduated talents nor from Holostars as well. She wanted to start out with a more limited pool since this is her first time doing something like this. Also there are so many Hololive songs to choose from already that it could get a. bit overwhelming.
- Whether this is something that lasts a while or ends quickly will depend on how well it's received, so she's hoping everyone reacts well to it.
- She came up with this cause she wants to show off what's great about the Holo girls' original songs. She also wants to listen to more songs herself and have them memorized so this is a win-win situation.
- Lately, it kinda feels like the Holo projects are super serious and overly prepared. The vibes feel kinda different from the older days, both on the fan side and the management side. Maybe it's her overthinking things, but it feels more difficult to just casually hit up a member and ask for a collab.
- Hololive has gotten so big that it feels like any mistake made will lead to members getting pricked and prodded at (assuming by anti and random critics etc), so it feels like there's more of a pressure to be perfect with any projects. With this, she wants to go back to the vibes of the older days and do a more casual stream idea.
Calli had a similar idea a while ago IIRC but it didn't last too long. I'm hoping Towa takes it a bit further since this is a neat way to spread original songs around. But I'm just glad she's back in general. I missed my favorite purple menhera.
Tokoyami Towa Presents:
Holo Song Station #1
(May 20th, 2025)
On the 20th of every month, Towa will be doing a stream where she introduces the original songs of current Hololive talents. More details in this post here but basically, fans will submit songs through a Google form where they can talk about why they love it. (June's application deadline has already passed as of last week). This was originally called "The Holo Member Original Song Introduction Project" but Towa and chat came up with a (thankfully) simpler name and a hashtag at the start of the stream. The hashtag is #ホロステ Towa will talk about the fans' thoughts on stream as well as the talents' own thoughts on their song (if they have the time to tell her about it). The format is pretty simple:
Towa will introduce the song and artist, then talk about the fan comments that were given through the Google form. Afterwards, Towa will show the comments of the Holo talents themselves if they were able to write them down for her.
- Not all talents will be able to submit their thoughts as it depends on how busy they are.
Towa will play the song on stream for everyone to listen to. If the song has an MV, she'll show it as well.
She needs seperate permissions for that so it may not happen for all songs. For this first episode, no MVs were played as she couldn't get the permissions ahead of this
Song #1: GREATEST by Otonose Kanade
View attachment 100114
Fan Comments:
- They love how the song talks about Kanade's determination to walk down her own path no matter what happens
- Her dreams and her goals are her own rather than something set for her by someone else.
- Even though she's dealt a lot of anxiety even since debut, she was able to overcome those hardships and feel invincible
- It's a cheerful, upbeat song about overcoming those doubts that truly feels like "Kanade"
- Kanade's unstoppable and invincible determination to keep on going will give you energy and motivation
- (Personally speaking, in both the lyrics and the instrumentals, I could immediately hear the parallels between GREATEST and Ado's I'm Invincible. That alone put a huge smile on my face as soon as I heard it. Kanade may be an eternal kusogaki but man she knows how to brighten up someone's day. Even if she's reminding you that the next day is Monday)
Kanade's Comment:
Because this is my first original song, I wanted to cherish it and be able to sing it for a long time, so I wrote it with my current hopes in mind like "I want to be like this!" and "I want to believe in this!" When I was making requests for the song, I wrote down a few keywords to send to Nanahoshi Orchestra (the lyricist), who was able to turn it into a fiery, passionate song. I was determined to not give up and let my own fire lose to that so it became a song full of passion! This is a song about believing in yourself (which was one of the keywords). I want to believe that every time I chant these words and sing this song, I will grow stronger so I'll continue to cherish and sing it with care!
Song #2: Break It Down by Vestia Zeta
View attachment 100117
Fan Comments:
- They really like the song's theme of being true to yourself.
- There are many rules and trends in today's society but inside of it all, it feels like you don't lose sight of your goals and your identity.
- The way Zeta sung with all of this in mind really touched their hearts.
- The song's melody is amazing and a perfect match with Zeta's voice, which is both powerful and delicate. The energetic beat and refined sound will leave an unforgettable impact on you.
- It's full of Zeta's cool and powerful charms and has a positive message, inspiring those who listen to it
- This is a song meant for both students and working societal members, so please listen to it lots.
Zeta's Comment:
"I probably have more of a cute image than a cool one, so I wanted to show off my cool side with this song! The meaning of "Break it Down" is to love yourself and have confidence without worrying about the opinions of others. The most difficult part was learning the choreography, though I was the one that asked for choreography that would break my back lol. I also animated the chibi illustrations myself which was a lot of work!"
Song #3: My Song by Tsunomaki Watame
View attachment 100119
Fan Comments:
- My Song is their favorite song of all time. They often listen to it often before club matches and after they've made a mistake.
- Watame's singing voice touched their heart, especially with the way the final chorus conveys that there's glory at the end of your challenges, as long as you never give up.
- If you're going through a difficult time, this is definitely the song to listen to.
- Someone listened to My Song for the first time when they were outright exhausted both physically and mentally. It drove them to immense tears and gave them encouragement to keep going through those times.
- While it's Watame's song, it feels like it can be a personal song for everyone that listens to it
- Towa said that a bunch of the comments were along the lines of "This song gave me the courage to keep going."
- (Everyone already knows how beautiful My Song is, but it's also given me PBs at the gym so very easy recommend for exercise as well.)
Watame's Comment:
"My Song was the first song I performed at my 1st Sololive and I put so much emotion into it that I messed up the tune and rhythm! I can't say I sung it very well, but it still left a strong impression on everyone so it has become a fond memory. It had me in tears during its production as I had to speak about the times before Hololive when I considered quitting music forever, how applying to Hololive was basically a final chance for me to do this, as well as my feelings since joining Hololive. As the lyrics say, I want to keep taking on many challenges as I form proof of my own path to glory here in Hololive. I'd be happy if you could keep supporting my songs and thank you so much for choosing My Song!"
Song #4: Chronic by Anya Melfissa
View attachment 100123
Fan Comments:
- The catchy rhythm is a great fit for Anya's whisper-like voice. It seems to really have fun with Anya's playfulness and match the lyrics as well
- The lyrics are incredibly interesting and there are many interpretations, but some seem to think that it expresses the relationship between vtubers and fans.
- They appreciate the fact that being sung by a vtuber is exactly part of what gives the song its meaning
- This was Anya's first song in full English and even though she said she isn't good at it, you don't feel that at all when you listen to the song. Anya was fully able to show off her amazing English talent here.
- A few comments appreciated how they were able to see a side of her that they haven't seen before.
- A hidden gem that hopefully more people can appreciate.
Anya's Comment:
"This song was a challenge for me. None of my original songs up to this point were in English so I was a little worried about if I could sing it well. I don't really sing songs with full English lyrics so I was really concerned about whether it would be well-received by everyone or not. I think that vtuber songs have an image that originated with vocaloid songs and J-pop songs, so making a K-pop song was also quite a challenge. But I was the one who asked for this song to be like this because I like K-pop's cool and stylish songs lol. Asteroid Music Team's songs are all very well-made so for this song, I left all the details regarding the concept and lyrics to them! I am truly grateful for their help. There are also a lot of harmonies in the background which are just amazing, so you may want to pay attention to them while listening. In the end, this turned out to be a really cool and stylish song so I hope everyone listens to it lots! The lyrics are in English but I think the they're rather easy to sing, so feel free to do so at karaoke too!
PS: To other Holo members: if any of you want to sing it, I'll gladly send you an instrumental so please let me know!"
Song #5: Starlight by Oozora Subaru
View attachment 100127
Fan Comments:
- While watching 4th fes, the performance that left the biggest impression was Subaru's Starlight.
- Because of its upbeat, fast tempo, you could truly see the sharpness and coordination of her dance.
- The beautiful tone, the life-size choreography and lyrics dedicated to the 2nd Gen members.
- All of this really showed them "THIS right here is Oozora Subaru" and left them with pure joy.
- Could never forget seeing Subaru and 2nd gen perform this song together during her live. It's a wonderful song with an amazing story where you can feel Subaru's struggles and growth throughout the lyrics
- With the recently-released MV, you can see that all of 2nd Gen are precious, important friends to her. Whenever you listen to/watch it, you can genuinely feel the bond there and that's why they love it.
- It'll boost your mood when you're feeling down and make you forget you're even depressed. A song as bright as Subaru herself.
- (Yea basically everything they said)
Subaru wasn't able to leave a comment this time, but I've posted a bit about her thoughts on Starlight here if you're curious.
Song #6: Countach by Todoroki Hajime
View attachment 100130View attachment 100131
Fan Comments:
- This song has a huge variety in terms of pitch. They really loved that you could feel both the coolness and the sexiness in Hajime's voice.
- The particular lyrics and how "I got it 壇上へ" sounds like "上がれ壇上へ" (small pun on how "I got it" sounds like "agare" in JP)
- Her singing voice is clear yet powerful and her choreography is so cool, you can't stop watching.
- It's easy to recommend cause you'll never get bored no matter how many times you listen to it
- A dark but cool and addicting song with choreography that Hajime made herself.
- Loved the way it was filled with everything that Hajime wanted to do, like how the dance could fully show off her skills and the singing was something she could imagine herself doing at a live. Even other pros did videos on how good the choreography was.
- The gap between the cool Hajime and the baby on stream.
Hajime's Comment:
"I absolutely wanted my first original song have this sorta dark vibe that you could dance to. The lyrics are about how this world is unfair and living honestly just ends up going nowhere. It'd be nice if we could live smarter but since we can't stop being honest with ourselves, what's the point in overthinking it? "May as well just dance woohoo!" was the sort of vibe I asked for. This is my personal interpretation but the word "doubt" can also mean doubting the world and even the truth. But doubting isn't always a bad thing and there are times where you have to face that doubt. Even if it's a pain in the ass, don't get carried away, look at it with your own eyes and make your best judgment. I requested for the sound to get quieter before the dance break because I wanted to create a sense of anticipation of what was going to happen next. I also thought that having different tempos in the sound would make it more erotic so that's how it ended up like this!"
Song #7: キスだけでいいからね (Just a Kiss is Enough) by Nekomata Okayu
View attachment 100137
This was basically a bonus song to help promote Okayu's 2nd Sololive so Towa didn't have time to collect fan comments.
Okayu's Thoughts:
"Just a kiss is... not enough"
Translation is kinda rough as I just did this on a whim in the middle of the night, so take some of it with a grain of salt. Not sure if I'll be consistent with these or if I'll even do the next one, but I think I'd like to since this is really cool of Towa to do and a great way to spread around the lesser-known Holo songs.
Towa is releasing a cover of Mumei:
I had forgotten but she said she wanted to release something special for the owl before she graduated. Unfortunately, the timing didn't work out with delays and stuff but still, I'm glad she got to release it.

Fatto Catto will always be an endearing nickname but man, all of Okayu's efforts in the gym absolutely paid off today. Her stamina held out the entire time, her choreography and movements were on-point and her singing was as beautiful as ever. I already knew how insane her vocal range was but the variety she hit today was still shocking. Both the bangers and the emotional ballads were peak. Gamers performing together was as chaotic and fun as usual. The new outfit and its variations also look great and yes, her tits were bouncing as much as you think and then some. She even called out the Holos doing watchalongs cause she knew they commented on it.
Today was definitely a live to remember. She promised she wasn't gonna cry after the 2 million sub stream but she still let out a few tears while reading her letter out. Fatto (but not really anymore) Catto love.
Also shoutouts to these fellas who were dancing in the crowd and giving out signed t-shirts to random people:
