Was at a large gathering and the son of the host was doing work at I guess it'd be called a mental intake center? Anyway, after the story about the guy that handed the staff his frostbitten toes, he explained why they put them on a bus to the warmer States. That party was quite the trip, as if I recall correctly, that wasn't even the wildest set of stories he had.
I don't necessarily think the rrats are winning with this one.....but it's definitely making the rrats much more funny.
ASRock 9070 XT Steel Legend had the white variant on sale for MSRP. Heard nothing but good things about it.

I'm open to be proven wrong but they keep hiring these indie producers that listened to mumble rap and said that shit is fire and can only replicate that. At this point either clara and jelly are pulling everyone's leg or this is a collective fuck you from the first invaders to people who have been mean to jelly(clara).
I don't want to risk doxing myself but I'm in a blue state (unfortunately) that RECEIVES these crazies. They stick out like a sore thumb because they clearly don't mesh well with the population.
You can't expect a tech normie to even consider Radeon tbf.
E: Also, whatever vtuber software they use might work better if using CUDA, because let's be honest, everything does.

Fishman doesn't pick OffKai because he's blissfully unaware of any issues. He's picking OffKai because they're the only game in town.
And keep in mind, while he pays OffKai, by financing the vendors, he indebts the vendors to him rather than to OffKai. This doesn't matter one bit while OffKai is the only game in town, but if a second con were to ever spring up and it becomes known that Sakana is jumping ship, then it'll matter.
As it is, in Fishman's calculus, the benefits of exposure and fan interactions at OffKai outweight the negatives. This may or may not be true, but it's clearly his calculus. And just in case an opportunity comes up, he's given vendors and artists a very good reason to jump ship if a second vtuber con were to appear.
Obviously, artists and vendors can attend both cons. But if one con pays for your shit and has Phase's fanbase attending and one does not, it rather affects the economic calculus.
The way out of this for OffKai is of course to become big enough to tank it. Get Hololive. And they're taking steps in that direction. They're getting a bit of Hololive this year. So, yeah, OffKai can defuse the bomb fishman has planted.
But Sakana's not cluelessly throwing money at a monster that hates him. He's very aware that the monster hates him but figures that the positives outweight the negatives. And planted an IED under the monster's bed just in case it becomes disposable.
Going for Asrock is like doing lottery. You either get the most bis of all its competitor, or just generic, or something that will fail in the most catastrophic way. They always use something very similar to other brands, then cook some of the most weird shit within the bios/vbios.
Let me just say, Sakana ain't that savvy, he's an autistic chink. The Offkai thing most probably went like this:
Sakana: Hey uh, can I sell coffee here?
Offkai: Uh, sure?
Sakana: Neat! Let me also pay for the artist booth so they can give us free merch.
Offkai: Alright... God, what an autist.
To be fair i have had way less jank with AMD's stuff compare to Nvidia. But that is going into nerd territory of troubleshooting/tuning and experimenting things yourself, and that i permanently deleted defender on all of my PCs like a psychopath anyway.
I'm not familiar with how chuubas tracking software works so i won't comment on it. But for OBS and other media-related workflow though then AMD is pretty much in a permanent "lol, lmao" status. Sometimes the hardware accelerated chips for media encode/decode simply doesn't exist on the GPU. At that point better get a dirt cheap Arc gpus for that, Intel's stuff is pretty neat at media works.
He's a mainland chink businessman with a couple mildly successful ventures, he's definitely at least somewhat savvy.
I do like the idea that it's purely instinctual and he's not aware of his power level though, that's funny.
Even if Sakana hasn't made a deep a calculation as this, sponsoring Offkai gives him good advertising and press with a convention full of dedicated vtuber fans that can afford to attend the con. That's a great audience to target. It also pleases the current fanbase that can attend the con to see Phase talents, and it's within a reasonable distance of Toronto for Sakana to be able to sell merch.
You don't have to like Offkai, or how it's run to appreciate all of that.
