also if your speaking race horse tradition the only way to really answer is to know the parents names as the most common way is to take inspiration from the parent names though apparently every region has it's own traditions and retarded rules.
Edit: did a little google and there's also the Registry if you want to do professional things your horse has to have a professional name with it's own retarded rules which can be completely different from the normal common use name
