Yes, because it was Nyaru's fault Kirsche was there to begin with. Thus making it Nyaru's responsibility. An actual adult would have either a) been the one to deliver that bad news (she didnt, it was Lysander) or b) actually fought at least SOMEWHAT on Kirsche's behalf. Kirsche claimed that never happened, and Nyaru had never once talked about it. I'm not saying Nyaru should have given OffKai the finger and fucked off too. But acting like someone with a spine and doing anything more than zero is expected in SOME capacity.Damn bro when you put that like that it really changes things. Nyaru 100% should have tanked her job at offkai and any forsaken any future event management work to take part in culture war BS over a woman she exchanged a few tweets with. Thats truly what a sane and not politics-brainrotted person would do in the situation.
It wasn't 'just a few tweets' you disingenuous prick. Nyaru was someone Kirsche considered a friend. Someone she raided frequently and shared regular audience-members with. Friends stand up for each other. If Nyaru was discriminated against because of her race, ethnicity or politics at Offkai, Kirsche would have stood up for her in solidarity, even if it cost her. Friends support each other even if it costs them something. Even if you disregard the personal aspect, Offkai discriminated against someone over matters that had nothing to do with them. It was the moral, principled thing to stand up to them, and Nyaru instead chose to be a good little cog in the machine and prioritize cynically advancing corrupt industry connections instead.
Can a SEA person explain, are Malaysia and Philippines that fundamentally different culture-wise towards the Internet, or is it down to individual family differences? Why is Erina's family broadly supportive of her side-career, while Jelly "had a physical altrecation" last time her mom discovered her being an anime girl and now has to lie that she's "employed at a Canadian company as a musician"?

Pretty sure it's largely down to individual family differences, although there is probably an ethnic factor in Jelly's case since she's some flavor of Malaysian Chinese (but apparently can't speak or understand any Chinese language - might be 2nd/3rd generation or a "basically one of the natives" subgroup like the Peranakan). Streaming isn't seen as a proper career, but increasingly perceived as an acceptable side-hustle.
In general, Asian family trope applies across all the region (not on the same level as East Asia proper), though the phenomenon is enhanced with traditional middlemen minorities like the Chinese and Indians. Culture-wise, my understanding is that in recent years, Muslims in ID and MY are buttoning up more and are a bit more sensitive about women on the internet, but attitudes remain far more liberal than any comparable majority Muslim country. ID generally has a more tolerant and pluralist attitude than MY, which has more strictly policed cultural and ethnic boundaries, down to separate personal laws for Muslims and non-Muslims (MY enforces Sharia law).
In terms of how haram it would be to have your daughter streaming to lonely men on the internet, attitudes would be something like (from most liberal to least):
PH >= MY (non-Muslim) >= ID (spans the whole spectrum from "basically Western" to "would make the Saudis blush") > (power gap) > MY (Muslim)
