You being ancient doesn't get rid of the creaks in my bonesBlue's Clues was for little kids, and was past my time by the time it came out, youngin'.
Let me just say, you just hit your Phase Shilling quota this week. All you phaseniggas should step up your game or else ya won't get paid.In more concrete terms, here's what I think Phase offers over other reputable agencies:
- Turnover is extremely low compared to other agencies. This tells me that work culture is good - it's highly likely that talents enjoy their work, aren't unduly stressed, goals set for talents aren't unreasonable, talents get along well with other talents, management and the CEO, and so forth.
- Idol activities are optional, which would suit talents who want to do idol stuff, but don't want the pace of it dictated to them and would prefer to do it on their own terms.
Hololive, as I understand it, mandates times that talents have to do idol stuff, which is a pretty big imposition, while other companies might not offer idol opportunities at all.
- There are pretty lax rules on stuff like what games can be streamed. You don't need permissions, which would suit streamers that play vintage games, and roms seem to be okay too. There seems to be relatively few restrictions in terms of content and stream topics too.
- From all accounts, Fishman is pretty generous towards talents - he gives out lots of free merch, pays for travel and food and so forth.
- Multiple talents are able to make a living solely streaming for Phase Connect, even talents that live in Western countries that can't take advantage of poor exchange rates, so money between donations, subs, and merchandise is decent if you're willing to put the work in to grow your channel.
There's obviously upsides to other companies, but I think Phase makes a pretty good case for itself for talents that want to be part of a corpo.
I have to pay Fishman to be a Phase shill. I need to renegotiate my contract. All you phaseniggas should step up your game or else ya won't get paid.
People still join small corpos, for some godforsaken reason. People still apply to Brave Group's properties, despite v4mirai being the only one without a big streak of red flags. It's difficult to say whether women still apply to NijiEN since their last female chuuba debuted almost a year ago.Company culture. Phase is at a point where it's a recognisable enough brand for even the bigger names to give it consideration, while also striking a decent balance between lax rules and a respectable public image. It has enough of its own identity now that I fully expect them to be getting tons of applications from people who specifically want to be in Phase rather than in the earlier days where it was just a backup option for applicants who got rejected from Hololive.
I am sorry Mr. President, I shall recycle my shillpost from general to compensateLet me just say, you just hit your Phase Shilling quota this week. All you phaseniggas should step up your game or else ya won't get paid.
I'd say the draw of getting into a small corpo is that if the company is successful, you can get in on the ground floor and be an important part of that company's history, development and identity, and hopefully, be rewarded for it. Also, talents that get in a corpo first tend to have more subscribers than newer talents. It also allows people that want to be in a corpo to get into a corpo, where they might not qualify for a more successful corpo with more qualified applicants.People still join small corpos, for some godforsaken reason.
Thanks, Negronald Trump. May your watermelon be juicy and sweet and your fried chicken be crispy on the outside and tender on the inside.Let me just say, you just hit your Phase Shilling quota this week. All you phaseniggas should step up your game or else ya won't get paid.
Also not necessarily saying the people joining Phase Connect are doing this but there has been precedent of several vtubers joining a small corpo to then transition to a larger oneI'd say the draw of getting into a small corpo is that if the company is successful, you can get in on the ground floor and be an important part of that company's history, development and identity, and hopefully, be rewarded for it. Also, Phase Connect started as a small corpo with a questionable job listing. Who's to say that the next small corpo that debuts won't be successful?
It's common practice in other industries to take a low-paying job to build your qualifications before moving elsewhere for a promotion and more pay. There's no reason that you shouldn't do the same as a vtuber. Also not necessarily saying the people joining Phase Connect are doing this but there has been precedent of several vtubers joining a small corpo to then transition to a larger one
The issue with that argument is that Phase Connect is literally the only survivor among the small corpos that started roughly in that period of time. The odds aren't great. Also, Phase Connect started as a small corpo with a questionable job listing. Who's to say that the next small corpo that debuts won't be successful?
Sure, but the odds for any startup aren't great. You're gambling years of your online career and potential growth in the hopes that the company is the successful one.The issue with that argument is that Phase Connect is literally the only survivor among the small corpos that started roughly in that period of time. The market changed a fair bit since Phase's inception, i think Phase joined in right at the beginning of the end of the initial small corpo boom in the West. Nowadays its a bit of a less favourful cointoss compared to those times imoAlso, Phase Connect started as a small corpo with a questionable job listing.
