Absolutely bitch-made situation. The server was essentially bullied into giving up all the tickets to be given to other fan groups in a lottery. I thought Hololive left China but it seems communism is reigning on Discord.
The japanese model is 50k yen, which makes it considerably cheaper than the overseas models, but it's hard-locked to japanese language settings and a japanese nintendo account. It's also apparently available in much smaller quantities. Here in the US you can pretty much walk into any big retailer and pick one up, or at worst wait a few days for the next shipment.

Some of the comments the brat server made were kinda distasteful, but they weren't wrong in trying to get as many tickets as possible before actual scalpers did. Other fans (and tourists) pretend to be pissed at the language but I'm 99% sure most of them were just mad someone had this kind of idea before them, and eventually managed to bully the discord into sorting them out to everyone and anyone. I can confidently say next year you will have discords of basically every fanbase in EN organizing to do this exact same bullshit and rob the scalpers and each other of as many tickets as possible.
I also love how everyone took that one comment some jackass made and acted as if it represented every single brat there

But yeah, the Brats were only buying in the name of other fans. They are reselling them for the normal price to other fans. This is 100x better than scalping, or buying from actual scalpers who jack up the prices.
Its been happening in smaller scale for ages, where friendsgroups would get together and each member would try to buy enough tickets for the whole group, in case only one makes it through the waiting line. Sometimes they then end up with multiple people having enough tickets, so the overshot tickets get sold/traded to other fans.
This is the same thing in large scale and I don't mind this tactic at all. Getting organized like that to prevent massive amounts of tickets to fall into the hands of actual scalpers is great. In the end, even their +- 500 tickets they got are only 4% of the seats, its not that big of a buy-out for only one fanbase.
Sure, those messages look bad in isolation but this is BVTM posting, this is 100% out of context to stir shit up. To me most of those messages read jokingly anyways, and the war is against scalpers, not the other fanbases.
