When localizing for the American market, we also consider cultural factors such as gender equality, which has led us to include women in traditionally male-dominated groups. In contrast, Thailand has a deep appreciation for Japanese culture, so we have not needed to heavily localize content there.

Moving forward, we will continue to refine our localization strategies based on market needs, ensuring that our content remains both authentic and appealing to diverse global audiences.

Why would I listen to an unsuccessful company detail how they think they're going to be successful?

Listen to a company literally tell you how their only road to success is buying it with investor money and still try to spin it as some kind of brilliant showcase of competence.

"...and when it looked like our Series C Investment funds were going to run out without our company successfully establishing itself as a major vtubing company, we opened up for our Series D Investment" - Brave Group CEO Keito Noguchi, probably.

Actually looked this up while trying to come up with my shitty post. Series C and D are actual financial terms for raising funds for a company, both in and out of Japan. There have been a bunch of rounds of investment by shareholders for Brave Group, the first few were "Series C", and the latter have been "Series D". To address the other shitposts that were also written, yes, you can increase the letter for more rounds of funding.

To save you two minutes reading, Series C and Series D funding (and later letters) are basically the same thing, but series D funding (obviously) comes after series C funding. Series C funding is for businesses that want to scale up. It might be (but not necessarily is) to help lead towards offering shares. Which does provide one good potential explanation for why Brave Group is trying to buy a bunch of corpos - they want to look successful for a potential IPO launch, and the initial shareholders sell their shares off after an initial launch jump but before people can see the underlying flaws in the fundamentals of the company.

I mean this is pretty obvious, Brave is essentially cheating with cash to build themselves up as a third power alongside Holo and Niji, who grew naturally by innovating, attracting talented people and finding their own niches (unlike Brave which is from the same era but blew its chance by having an utterly idiotic """innovation"""). It's obvious that Brave's goal is to build up as quickly as possible without following code while the flimsy foundations that support them last, so that they can sell to an even bigger idiot who will have to deal with the whole thing collapsing under its own weight, dooming dozens of corpos and hundreds of talents to a shitty end they don't deserve, to be either canned due to messy bureaucracy or sold to the highest bidder.

Not that you would know why but playing the embedded video I got a guy AI dub of the audio. Some "all vtubers are men" YT propaganda.
Ami has an arcade stick for her Saturn, and she isn't afraid to use it

Curious, do fight sticks make any difference in games this old? Like, are the frames close enough that more inputs give a significant advantage? Also, Felicia is up there with Lola in terms of unintentional consequences in the human experience. For sure she was NOT my main.

Not sure I am following. Brave bought their biggest cash cow, VSPO, years ago and just recently bought Idol, under some pretty silly terms as talents were allowed to leave free of charge. There is no bigger idiot that I can think of. Sony mostly fucked off. The relatively low cost of entry means companies don't need to follow Brave in acquiring existing talent. I see Brave riding Idol and VSPO until some late stage cost savings causes everyone to rebel and leave. I really like VSPO so I hope I am wrong.

It is interesting to see most worked with kids but then again most are women.
Also a fairly common day/side job for weebs in Japan since they cracked down on bars and the like. Low skill and minimal Japanese required I guess.

Unless Japan is especially retarded here you just up the letter each time you raise a new funding round, exactly like in Nenelove's joke. Stripe (who are huge and profitable but famously haven't gone public yet) are apparently up to Series I now.

Their big purchases in terms of numbers are VSPO in 2022, HimeHina in 2023 and Neoporte in 2025, VSPO is the 3rd largest agency in the world behind Niji and Holo in terms of viewership marketshare, Neoporte is 4th. It would be incredibly easy to convince any big-pocketed, oblivious, japanese mega-corp trying to get into vtubing by force to buy in the case that shit goes awry.

Also why is Idol included here? Idol is pretty much worthless in this equation, probably just bought to legitimize Brave as "having expanded overseas" which sounds really nice to investors.

It's interesting how "invaders" has become the preferred term for inducted indies, a phenomenon which is MUCH more common and older than you might think looking at Holo/Niji which really have only done it once each (Kuzuha for Niji and Suisei for Holo). I have found examples of it as far back as 2018 and many agencies I have looked into have had independents join or even entire indie inducted generations or groups.

I guess phase can claim coining the term as their biggest contribution to vtubing as a medium lol, aside from inflicting us the horrors of more and more edgy pippa wannabe """""""girlfailure""""""" indies.

It only happened with Suisei because she was so autistic that she refused to join unless she could keep her name and model. There's no way this would happen with Hololive today, but early Hololive was very, very different.

It makes sense for smaller companies to want vtubers that already have a following to keep their identities when they join. Instead of an unknown vtuber joining a corporation to gain a larger audience, it's the other way around.

I think Fishman just wanted to make a Space Invaders pun. It doesn't make any sense when other companies use the term if there is no pun.

Shit I forgot about Neo and they have Himehina? Fuck off. Yeah, Idol is there because it's their best effort into the western market other then VSPO-EN. Obviously I gotta read your charts more. So does the alien Mafu and his buddy still own a share of Neo?

Pretty good recap of Aki's journey
