I've had a couple experiences in my life that certainly gave the impression of the supernatural, specifically being in some sort of parallel world where everything is kind of monochrome (first time was a kinda pale blue-green and black, second was purple and black), there are no people around even though there absolutely should have been, sounds worked differently, with everything sounding way closer than it should have, and there was a strange sensation of another presence but no other evidence. Once was at a Boy Scout camp in the early morning, the other was walking through my old neighborhood on a summer evening. It definitely made me understand how people could believe in a fairy world. And there are places in the world where it feels like reality itself is heightened, with colors more vivid and saturated and a feeling of energy that you don't get in everyday life.
