I mean, no, that doesn't work, because there is zero connection between the two. This is like saying Uruka fleshposted a ton because we found her old FB through the Phase leak of last year. Or Rie fleshposted a ton via us finding her Tinder pics through the same leak.
Meh. That thread is basically a politsperging thread with very little to do with vtubing, so i honestly tuned out of it for the most part. Like there are a couple people that pretty much only hang around in that thread politsperging, barely venturing into the broader forum, and i'm just puzzled as to why they chose a vtuber forum to do this, of all possible options.

The Clara thread is an interesting case study on how much a VTuber's roommate matters in the enjoyment of content.
In theory, Clara is doing things (mostly) right from a "purist" VTubing perspective (i.e. the pilot's off-stream activities shouldn't matter), since all the sperging happens on an account not linked to her VTubing persona in any way. In practice, you can't fully separate the on-stream persona from the person behind the model.
I still tune in to her sometimes, and I kind of agree, but that's why it's interesting. If you take the "traditional" view that the VTuber is a character first and foremost, then the off-stream politisperging shouldn't matter at all, since the character Clara isn't a hardcore lib and hasn't caused any issues for the company (that we know of). But as you say, it's a bit hard to get over what the roommate says. Still, if the RM account was never discovered, then things would be different, wouldn't it?
It's just interesting especially considering the supposed Lumi BF yab and "what is GFE" convo in the past few pages. VTubers are entitled to a private life, but it comes with a huge asterisk in practice. At this point, I've come to hand-wave it all with, "It depends".

I enjoy her, her levels of political stupidity don't match the political stupidity in my country, she's just an average humanities student in my mind
It's definitely become more difficult to actually enjoy her streams knowing how much of a libtard she is. But she does keep it mostly professional so far.

It's more a matter of how much she hates the predominantly right-wing Phase Connect audience that exists here. If she was just a nineties leftiest, aka "I'm worried about climate change, let's save the environment, let's donate to charities helping Africa, can't we all just get along", and so forth, I'd think she was wrong, but in a charming naive sort of way that I wouldn't be angry about. Instead, she hates a deep hatred of anyone who disagrees with her political views which does ruin her for me, and I did use to tune into her on occasion.
Sleepy was gonna redo the Goemon streams (they originally were kind of off as she hid her accent in them). I wonder if now's the time since she is with Phase

Yeah we're decades past the point of "the two sides just have minor disagreements on certain issues". Anyone on either side who still believes that really has their head in the sand, like my uncle who had to have it pointed out to him repeatedly that the woke stuff in media and IRL that he was complaining about were the official positions of the party that he had blindly voted for his entire life.
