Which is a strong indictment of the conservative party if Guy Who Talks Shit And Acts Irrationally who talks shit and acts irrationally during the election can cause the conservative party to lose, it suggests the platform they ran on was irrelevant, their candidate is uncharismatic, and the country at large is fake and not real; this is not even mentioning how many "Canadians" are allowed to vote which fucks with the outcome. Fake country that even if the libertarian "conservative" candidate was allowed to win would've merely slowed the inevitable death of Canada. That's fair. I think it also speaks to the "globalisation" of domestic politics. A highly publicised right wing federal government in the US generating a backlash against local conservative parties in other countries, a bit like how the mid terms usually go against the incumbent.

If you think the media is adversarial in the US, its even worse in smaller countries that can only support a much smaller, much more easily controlled media ecosystem.

Canada has a pre-scheduled implosion. They're now required to double down, and, boy, does that give Trump something fun to play with. Trump is happy to make a solid deal, but if you're going to be obstinate negotiator, he's going to make the PM kiss the ring. Thus, the PM has to kiss the ring of "literally Hitler", which will be nothing but a demoralization event when it happens.

The funny bit is if the USA finally decides to slice Canada up. It's been clear for a while their internal political system would never hold because of the bilingual aspect, but it's funny to see it starting to actually fray in real-time.

Yeah, he really drummed up the Canadian populace to spite vote him. Canadians are hilariously prideful and arrogant, so calling out their fag behavior resulted in them going Ultra Ego to vote against the group that said they wanted to work with Trump. It's not so much a divide between the speakers, it is the effect it's had on the political class. They've become extremely separated from the rest of the country, and that's before the fact they've basically been bought off by the Chinese and WEF-types. But, because of that disconnected effect, they're quite easy to buy off. Which is why we're seeing the functional death of parliamentary systems in real-time. They work fine if no foreign powers are paying attention to you, but, the instant that changes, there rot is almost impossible to remove. They're systems that can't pivot until they're about to die, which is basically what France keeps doing.

There's also this weird aspect where the Canadians never understood the USA's Interstate Trade laws and why they're important. I don't know enough about it to give details, but apparently it's normally cheaper to sell stuff to the USA than it is other Providences in Canada. Which might also help explain a lot of the passive-aggressiveness to the USA more than just the "we're not America's Hat" aspect. They have a legal environment that creates a lot of Canada-US trade but really limits Around Canada trade, which is a lot of the reason the economy has been in the doldrums for ages. (Obviously, the WEF-back plan to ruin the place with immigration doesn't help.)

I guess at some level it's basically a bunch of weird representative Fiefdoms and what ties them together is fraying in real-time. It's not like aspects of this political trend aren't everywhere, but, in the USA, it's chunks of States wanting to switch to a new State. In Canada, it's Alberta send delegations to the USA to negotiate stuff, what stuff being up in the air.
