The Terminator is perfection. There is not a single second wasted, not a single second where you are left thinking "Okay, so when does the main story continue?" It doesn't have all the bells and whistles of modern films, but it is pure in a way few, if any, other films are. It is perfect like Antoine de Saint-Exupery described it: "Perfection is achieved, not when there is nothing more to add, but when there is nothing left to take away."
By contrast, Terminator 2 has lengths that leave the audience wondering. And it cites T1 so much, it's edging towards being a remake. Trying to run people over with a truck? Cited. "Come with me if you want to live?" Cited. "Get out." and a hapless human jumping out of a moving vehicle? Cited. Watching them back to back is eye opening.
T2s best and most original, most in character moment is Sarah trying to smash the Terminator's brainchip with a hammer and being stopped just in time by her son. And that one wasn't in the theatrical release.
T2 isn't just a different genre. It's borrowing half of its memorable scenes from the first film.

T2 isn't just a different genre. It's borrowing half of its memorable scenes from the first film.
And for that reason I'll always hold T1 up as the greater of the two. All T2 did was borrow it and adding some fluff.

Yeah, it's one of the most disturbing little subcultures on YouTube since despite obviously attracting predators, everyone involved had some way of deferring responsibility or plausible deniability which makes it hard to crack down on, so they were able to keep doing it in plain sight - and not even obviously grown men having curated "young girl" playlists seemed to raise any flags.
It's up there with the paedophiles sharing encrypted onion links on Elsagate videos, since most people would assume it's just kids hitting random keys.
I remember a while ago someone realised if you searched YouTube for a handful of different '90s/'00s cartoons with the filter set to show only playlists, you'd find playlists that were mostly the show, but would have pornographic clips show up about half-way down. At the time people were worried it was another paedo ring mixing in porn with popular cartoons to groom kids, until it later turned out it was actually coming from a group in some third-world shithole (Vietnam I think?) who were skirting around the fact that actual porn sites were blocked in their country.I only ever use youtube, as it's the safest porn site out there.
