I feel like this is one of those situations where effort isn't going to do anything unless they fundamentally change how they conceive of and relate to the concept of an overseas branch. Which I don't think they have the level of ability to self-reflect to pull off.
Six months ago, Nijisanji had the reach of being the second-biggest EN corpo to be able to say: "if you don't want to play by our Japanese corpo rules, you can go elsewhere" and talents would put up with that bullshit, because you could make good money and numbers being a Nijisanji talent and you were getting to use the Nijisanji brand for yourself.

Now, they're somewhere around the level of Idol Corp in terms of pull and visible metrics like CCV and superchat revenue (being generous towards Nijisanji) and being a Nijisanji talent is no longer the draw it once was. Imagine having to put up with Japanese corpo autism, language barriers, and permissions bullshit to work for a black company where you aren't even making Idol Corp tier money.

Flipsie is fucking annoying pest that's everywhere, and only due to sheer volume have some W replies.
Please dig up your model and go back to streaming whatever shooter you were streaming with no mic and posting porn of Doki in discords.

Even if they could do that, there are times when the cancer has progressed too much to cut out without killing the patient. Fixing NijiEN would require firing almost everyone involved except some of the livers and rebuilding the entire branch from the ground up, and even that probably wouldn't save it because NijiEN's name would still be mudd.

Why bother firing them, when instead you can abuse everyone until they off themselves! They can't sue you if they are dead too, nothing but benefits

Flipsie's shit-stirring has finally gotten to Finana.

I can't remember who he even is, I just think the tweet was funny.:pippasadl:
For those who don't actually know Flipsie is the definition of a Vtweeter and a grifter, they have a model but the last time he/she/whatever streamed was a no talking stream last year, they mostly spends their time replying to well known Vtubers. If your oshi is moderately known try looking at some of her tweets, there's a chance this femboy is down there trying to get some attention.
Funny thing is before Selen's termination Flipsie used to do the same thing with the NijiEN livers and only started posting this kind of replies to them once it became popular to do so. Like God's strongest Dragoon said they are an amoral oportunistic rat
Clearly something happened between Q3 & Q4 of FY 23, but I don't remember what was going on around then.
I don't remember precisely but I can understand why the revenue was down in the last part of 2023: most of the livers had traveled to Japan around october-november and stayed there to record the AR live, which meant less streams and opportunities to make money.
Then you have the fact that it was around this time that Niji started to catch some more serious flak with the debuts of Matara and Kuro. I remember that it was after their debuts that clipping the moments where they talked about their old company became popular, even if it was less than 5 seconds or not so serious stuff

Well Q3 is the holiday season, correct? It's not a question of why they suddenly drop off but how many streams and merch that they make bank on Q3. I don't really follow their merch and event cycle.

Please correct me if I'm wrong they are counting November, December and January as Q3, right?

It's most definitely a man, women know that the very fact they are female WILL get them simps in this industry, no matter how boring or annoying they are, someone will try to groom because in this day and age there are no standards. So this reluctance to be heard and shit is the same as with zentreya, obviously a fucking dude.

I can’t believe I’m saying this, but I agree with Flipsie’s words on this one. Just their words, and just this one singular reply, though. Other than that, I try not to pay much attention to them.
I hate people like flipsie because they have no allegiances, and a corpo which I do like (Holo) and am invested in can and will be targeted by this vermin once Niji's carcass dries out. Niji can fix itself with enough effort, these grifters are nothing but worthless, unlike Niji which once upon a time contributed to the development of vtuber culture and tech, this leech has never done anything useful in his short existence.
I don’t have any allegiances, yet you don’t see me going after anyone out in public (even if I absolutely despise them)

Indeed. Niji's strongest historically is Q3, Holo's is Q4.

Yes, Q3 is November, December, and January. The YoY decline from 2023 Q3 to 2024 Q3 can mostly be explained through merch.
q3drop.png
Nominally they were down 787m YoY. Their livestreaming revenue was down by 104m but that's minimal in the grand scope of things, especially when their revenue from promotions was up by 33m to offset that. NijiEN has no events so that leaves only merch. Notice how Q3 2023 had 1,952m in revenue but 1,415m (72.5%) was commerce. Meanwhile Q4 2023 had 1,165m in revenue but only 700m (60.1%) was commerce. This drop in revenue from commerce makes up 90.1% of their revenue loss YoY.

Their 2023 Q3 (which is 2022 November+December and 2023 January) is when they debuted XSOLEIL. Their merch had a lot going during that time because it was their 1st anniversary of Luxiem, new outfits for Ethyria, New Years merch, and the half anniversary for ILUNA. So their 2023 Q3 was supercharged by all sorts of merch drops and a new gen (and remember, XSOLEIL was the last gen to have any hype behind it).

As for their 2024 Q3, they lost Nina, Mysta, Yugo, and Zaion. Aside from the fact that Mysta was an obvious money printer, you have to consider the effect that losing a gen member has on merch for all of them. For example, look at Luxiem with its 5 members. Not only are you losing merch revenue from Mysta no longer around, you're going to see a 20% drop to the revenue from "full gen merch purchases" when someone leaves. Then there's the whole Zaion doc that brought up that talents only get 2% of merch revenue, so people stopped buying merch as much and started buying voicepacks more often. I'm willing to bet this simple change really fucked with NijiEN because their cheaply made copy-paste merch where talents only get a 2% split from was a huge revenue stream for NijiEN.

After Cover's financial results came out this week, everyone was impressed with how much money Cover was banking from merch but their shit only made up 41.4% of their total revenue. If you look at NijiJP for 2024 Q3, they had 6,531m in revenue. The revenue from commerce for NijiJP was 3,624 or 55.5% of their total revenue. Companywide (NijiJP+EN) Niji's entire business strategy appears to have been "MERCH MERCH MERCH" while giving the talents a miniscule cut as commerce made up 56.2% of their total revenue.

I don't think anyone is buying much recently after they turned the entire shop into a gacha too. And Luxiem fans got fucked in the ass with shitty quality for the second time. Not as in "it was advertised as crap and it was crap" but defective products and sometimes empty packages. They aren't going to continue printing money with that attitude to QA

if Mint, Doki, and Sayu manage to have a collab at all this year I will eat my Pomu acrylic stand. (All 3 of them have to be in the collab or I ain't doing it).
Quoting post for posterity. You've got 6 months to choose a sauce to go along with your acrylic stand.
