Asians and marketing scams, how do they attract each other so strongly? Someone should make a thesis on that.
It's kind of upsetting that these people seemingly don't have friends (as in genuine friends, not people who make half-hearted small-talk on Discord under the guise of "networking") among their peers to get earnest support from.
We're shitposters on a gossip forum first and foremost, we're not supposed to be each other's friends and people aren't supposed to like us all that much. If industry professionals trust people from the forum above those in their immediate circles, there's a problem running very deep there.
After I started talking with more vtubers on private I got where people came from, partially: there's a weird air of paranoia around because everyone is afraid of getting swept, cancelled or conned. Add that to the Woman Factor and voilá, you have a decent schizoid specimen holding it together by the fact they're responsible for their content and/or community, thus livelihood in some cases.
You shouldn't trust any of us, you never know how good of a social engineer someone is and some people are SERIOUSLY fucking mentally ill and can fake their personality for months just to get you to open up to them. You never know who holds a grudge against you.
I think that's rather cynical viewpoint when comparing open spaces and places like here. You can find a schizo with God syndrome anywhere, ready to make a file about you and work for months to profile and ruin your life after. There, here, the boards or private discords aren't nothing special in that regard.
It also doesn't exist in a vacuum, I see it as a consequence of public discourse and ostracization of the "weirdos" that draws trust towards people who talk directly to others after calling them a dirty monkey, instead of taking someone's right to be just because they said they enjoy Rance. These places and this feeling of reliance far from the public eye exist
because the open spaces are unethical and unsalvageable.
Personally, I
chose to be more trustful of
some people here than the ones with public persona because, as CuckTourist said, the anonymity allow niggas to keep it real, haven't any issue with anyone and I enjoy reading different opinions (if you have beef with me I've completely ignored it with my autism shield).
